Bio Photo I love genealogical research. I teach for a community college at a men's prison here in Shelton. I am also doing a volunteer genealogy class for the men to help them with their research. Great fun! Any of the photos I take are free to be used for genealogical research. You do not need to ask my permission.

New Cemetery
Hi, Sue, don't know if you remember me but a couple years back we did Whitener pictures in Shelton Memorial park.... Well I was in Shelton in November and found out that there is a new Cemetery in Shelton not far from the other one.. don't know if you have heard of it.. it is on the Indian Rev. called Squaxin Island Sacred Grounds.
We went out there because one of the Whiteners died and my sister wanted to go.. anyway he is buried in the new Cemetery...I have a picture of the entrance gate if you can send me your email I will send it to you. My cousin was in the tribe..there are not many people buried in the new cemetery yet... but they moved some old graves that use to be beside some of the roads.. into the cemetery. Just thought you might like to know.. totsie

RE: The Sylar Family
Hi Sue,
I wanted to let you know that I did verify with the director of the cemetery as to the 3 Sylar children being buried there as well as I went to the library and looked up the newspaper article as to where they were buried. There are no markers for those 3 children, there are however markers for the other 4 of that day.

Hi Sue, I went back to the cemetery today to ask the director where they are located. He did show me and again was talking about that day, however, when we got to where they are buried the names are not that of which you have asked for. The dates do match but not the names. I still took pictures of the headstones. By any chance, are you related? Do you know what happened? The gentleman was telling me and I thought maybe someone made a mistake or something. I can always go to the library and look it up on the microfilm they have there for that day. You can email me as well if you would like.

RE: The Sylar Family
It is no problem. I have the section and plots if you would like those as well. I am going to try and go tomorrow and see if someone can show me the location. If you don't mind me asking, are they family members? If there are any others that you know of in this area I will gladly take pictures for you.

The Sylar family
Hi, I was just wanting to let you know that I have gone up to the cemetary where, the 3 are buried, located where at but was unable to find them. I will go back in the next couple of days and ask. The gentleman who told me remembers about them so I will ask him to show me. Just wanted to let you know that someone is looking.

Hi Sue,
I've transferred Elizabeth DeMoss Lankford to you. I will work on John shortly. It would be so much easier if you would request transfers on the individual memorials. Contributors receive an email with all the information needed instead of looking up your contributor number along the memorial number by their name. That makes it very helpful.
Many thanks,
Deborah Phenix

Hi Sue,
Would you mind requesting transfers by going to each person's memorial page, clicking on the "edit" tab, and requesting transfer from there? It is so much easier for me to fulfill your request(s) that way.
I wanted to let you know I visited Leah's grave today and got a photo. She and her husband actually have one of my favorite monuments at the cemetery. There are lovely birds as a part of their bench monument. I will add the photo(s) in a little while. Tomorrow at the latest. Then I will transfer her to you. :)
