I am a native of Cabell County, WV, born and raised, and a 1998 graduate of Marshall University with a BSN in nursing. I have been blessed with 3 children and 8 beautiful grandchildren.|
Of all the things I take pleasure with, genealogy is my passion. It has been my hobby for over 25 years. In 1997, I volunteered to coordinate the Cabell County, WVGenWeb at Rootsweb.com. I can't post the cemeteries I've read fast enough on FindAGrave.
Most of my entries on FAG were done before they added the update to link parents and spouse. I work on adding this information every day. Please DO NOT take the photos I've posted and add them to your family tree on Ancestry.com. These are my photos and taking them without my permission is stealing and against the law. Please do no post death certificate taken from WV Culture web site to my entries on FAG.

The info that you have for Elizabeth Shoemaker is, unfortunately, wrong. If you look at the marker it says Shomaker, not Shoemaker. As per Elizabeth's info Elizabeth would have been 10 years old when her daughter Fanny was born (link). According to the links listed the Elizabeth that is associated with Joseph and Fanny died in 1941, not 1939 as per death listed in WV death index.
Elizabeth Shomaker was single, never married.
I hope you make the adjustments that doesn't link the three together.
Thanks for making this correction and also for all the work you have done for everyone!
|Patricia Moore||Adam Snider|
I've been researching my gg uncle Franklin McCorkle who married Victoria Snider Pusey, daughter of Adam and Sarah Snider . In my research, I have found that Adam is still listed as far as the 1930 census. It's a shame his death year was never etched in his stone.

Thank you so much!
|Mondra Fazely||Betty Halley|
I put in a photo request for the headstone for Betty Halley (Memorial# 145069717) and got this response.
Greetings from Find A Grave,
We are writing to let you know that a Find A Grave volunteer has reported a problem with your photo request for Betty Halley.
The general problem they reported is:
Cemetery office has no record of this person
They also reported, specifically:
This only means that the office personnel could not locate the record for this person.
Your photo request is still active and has not been removed. Hopefully, another contributor can fulfill your request. If you can fix the problems that were reported or have additional information that might help a volunteer photographer, please delete this request and create a new one, adding the additional information you have.
Could you check on this for me please and possibly provide additional information on the memorial?

My Grandmother is Stella Mae Persinger she was 3 in the 1940 Census. Della Faye was her twin sister to clear up the confusion. From what my grandmother told me she died of pneumonia.
|Long Black Veil||Delbert Day|
Thank you, I have corrected the birth date of Delbert Day.
If you are photographing stones in the Baylous cemetery, I would like very much to have an update photograph of Delbert's stone.
Also one of his parents, brother and grandparents
Thank you for all the work you do on find a grave
|Long Black Veil||Debert Day|
Thanks you for pointing out the date on Delbert Day's stone and the birth date I have listed. Years ago Delbert's son sent me his father's birth date and the photo of his parents stone. I will check records and correct the date if need be.
Thank you for all the work you do on find a grave,
I noticed that you took a picture of the Hurricane cemetery. Hope that you can help me solve some sort of mystery. I have an old receipt from the Office of Town Council dated October 25, 1924. Hurricane West Virginia. It says received of Mrs. B.R. Lowden (Louden) $5.00 for west half of lot no. 4, section. I visited the cemetery a while back but did not see a stone. Would you know of a way to find records for a Burl Raymond Lowden (Louden). He is my husbands grandfather and I have been lost to find out anything about him. I live out of state so would appreciate any help...

the death date you have for her is incorrect.
according to her death certificate and her death notice she died 23 Sep 1917.
Her maiden name was Birchfield. parents were John Henry and Matha Billups Birchfield.
Robert Gwinn was her second husband. he was married first to Alonzo Porter.
