All of St. Joseph lawn at Riverside Cemetery in Spokane, Wa has been photographed. |
All of Saturnia Lawn has been photographed, also in Riverside, is done.
My next lawn at Riverside to work through is Poppy.
Every marker that is visible has a memorial & a photo.
Family names I am very interested in are: Anglemyer and Kraetschmann(and variants). Wilkerson(from Montana). Schuster who became Rose via his moms 2nd marriage. My Grandpa Fred had 3 sisters--they married Egger, Pueppke, and Beulen/Beuler. Anyone with last name of Maas from Germany.
On Husbands side--Tanner(from the Platte River area of Nebraska). Hunsley(from England, George & Sarah Ann). Marsh. Abbott.
Photo request not found--For those photo requests that have been requested in Greenwood/Riverside--I and other volunteers have looked very thoroughly for your ancestor. If you get a report stating there is a problem with fulfilling your request--we have looked for them and were not successful in locating a marker for them, so therefore instead of letting these requests still stand, I will be having them removed.
I am sorry for not being able to fulfill every photo request.
If you want more info. please do email me and I will do what I can to help.
That does not mean that they are not buried at Greenwood/Riverside--just that no marker was able to be found.
"Use a period after names where only the initial is known". I will be submitting many Edits for just a period. Thank you Sue
PLEASE, NEVER ADD OBITS. TO ANY MEMORIAL I HAVE CREATED.
I DON'T LIKE THEM ON MY HARD WORK. YOU CAN ASK ME IF YOU THINK YOUR REASON IS SPECIAL, BUT I WILL NOT SAY YES.
Also, if anyone has info. on the Ralph Paul Kettley family of Illinois, I would love to talk/email you.
I need some info. on Benzie Co., Michigan. What it was like 100 years ago especially. I would like more info. on Copernisle, MI also. I would also appreciate it if someone could do lookups of articles, obits., and so on for Adam J. Rose/Schuster and his wife Caroline or Carrie. Also, their kids.
Just to clarify, I am not on Ancestry.com or any paid site like that
Just email me if I can help you.
YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE MY PHOTOS OF YOUR ANCESTOR AS YOU WISH--please credit me as the photographer.
Greenwood Non-Endowed//Lawns 25, 26 & 27
A non-endowed lawn is nothing more than a portion of the cemetery that gets no care--they don't do any type of maintance, water, mow, etc.
Pine needles fall, branches fall and so on. So, when I find out that a person is buried in any of the above I will post a photo that I just took. Please remember that Greenwood is more than 100 years old. So, the chances of us actually locating the marker for your ancestor in a non-endowed are not that great. That doesn't mean that we won't try, just don't hold your breath.
IF YOU WANT ME TO DO A TRANSFER OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBER, EMAIL ME. I will consider each request as they come in. The way I see it--these are guidelines only, not hard and fast rules. So, if you have an odd situation with your ancestor or even if it is a friend--let me know. I am not related to most of the names that I "manage". So, don't be afraid to ask for a transfer or whatever your situation involves.
Taking photos--I want to explain my thinking behind the way I take the photos.
I feel that it is a privilege that someone else is entrusting me--to take the best possible photo of their ancestor that I can. Therefore, I take a whisk broom with me and some water. I always clean up the stones before I take a photo. It does not take long and so improves the photo. Not to mention it just seems more respectful of the person that I am photographing. Sometimes, the descendant needs date/name verified. That is difficult to achieve if there is a bunch of debris on the marker. Debris like pine needles, branches and so on. It only take a minute if that long to wipe that all away.
Water-I take some of that just for any bird droppings on the stone. A bit of water on the droppings, wait just a sec., and the bird droppings are gone. You have to sweep, wipe away. But, the idea is that you don't use anything harsh to get rid of them.
If it is bird droppings mixed with tree pitch/sap--no chance of removing that.
So, if you are going to fulfill any photo requests for me--I would appreciate your doing it the way I have outlined it for when I fulfill other peoples requests.
Just in case someone wants to know someday--My source for DOB, DOD, names, marriages, military and so on is--digitalarchives.wa.gov--obviously it only helps me out here in Washington State.
I don't like having to pay any web site money for what actually should be free--esp. in the case of a 100 year old marriage license, death cert., and so on. So, I don't do Ancestry.com--
The above web site is ALWAYS my source. The only other source I have here is our library.
So, please don't ask me who or what my source is--I've already told you.

Hi Sue! You created the above memorial last October 2016. I just recently put in a photo request and they could not find their headstone. Do you know where you got the information from? Can you help with this?
Re: Frank Koehl Boesche

I search the Arizona Death Certificates for Vera Allen's husband, but I could not locate him. Because of the dates I feel certain that he is deceased. He presumably moved out of Arizona sometime after his wife's death. LeRoy

Thanks so much Sue! I'm honored that you took the time to get this and send it. I only got to meet grandfather Vern once in my live due to the divorce from my grandmother, his first wife, causing a rift. I'm delighted to get another memory of him.

No, I am not kin. Please send me the Findagrave memorial number and I shall check up on things. I see in your note about Riverside, and I assume that is Riverside, California. No sure. ? However, just to inform, I work a fair amount of Findagrave stuff based on Arizona Death Certificates, which are on-line. I did a quick search on Vera's name for California, but I did not locate her. Please send her Findagrave number and I get started trying to answer your question. LeRoy.
Thank you very much for the TS picture! Marla :)

|Rick Valentine||Elden Claude Marsh|
Sue: Elden Claude Marsh was the son of Myrtle B. (Dart) Marsh 1895 - 1966. Doris M. (Bircher) Marsh 1919 - 1947 was his wife, she died at age 28. So Elden outlived her by 54 years. The "Mother" inscription on the stone would be for their son. I linked Elden to her. Thanks for getting the photos it is much appreciated.
