A Texan's family tree is like a beautiful rose with many fragrant petals, but with any rose, you have thorny branches that needs pruning on occasion....the same goes with families.
Beatitudes of the Family Genealogists:
Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."written by Unknown;

I would never have known if David had not called me.
Joanne graduated in 1953 from RHS - one year after me. Her husband, Ray, was the first guy I met when I moved to Richardson in the summer of 1946 - so I've known them for 71 years.

I tried very hard to find a name but every record including obits of family just have her initials. I suspect she was called Emmy and just never used her real name.

Nancy, I'd appreciate your assistance solving a mystery ... a duplicate it seems. What I want to learn is whether Mary A. E. Johnston is buried in Grassdale Cem., Wheatherford, Parker Co. # 13719608 created by you 24 Mar 2006 or in Grassdale Cemetery, Palo Pinto Co. #106438237 created by D. Stewart 9 Mar 2013. Any light you could shed would be appreciated.

|Bill Clayton||Charles C. Clayton|
A note posted on findagrave.com along with a close-up photograph of his tombstone says in part, "In a statement made under oath on September 18, 1863 Charles C. Clayton said that prior to the War he had been a farmer and had been born in Jefferson County, Alabama and was age 30."
Are you the author of this? If so, why was he making this statement under oath? Was this on an application for a pension? Any thing you can add would be very helpful.

There were four young men living in Itawamba County, Mississippi; all first cousins and all born in Jefferson County, Alabama. The one who moved to Kaufman County, Texas was a son of Warren Clayton whose name is on the reverse of the tombstone in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Did this William R. Faulk not have a daughter named Mahala J. born in 1849?

You're more than welcome. I came across all their obits while Linking someone else. There is several of members of her family there, in the Hew Hope Cemetery in Shelby Co. but there is no response from one of the contributors.
You may want to hook her descendant to her . I did
link her daugther to her . Her mother is even there, but can't link them.
I know about the computer problems. Hope You're not having as much trouble as I am.

Wanted to give you a heads up on her memorial. The death certificate states she will be buried in the New Hope Cemetery, but that is the New Hope Cemetery in Shelby County. The contributor doesn't seem to respond . Her mother, husband, and daughter are there,also. Am not aware if some of the other family members or there or not.
Hope this information has helped.

Arthur Meador Reynolds
Is this the same Arthur Meador Reynolds that is listed in the Reynolds - Reynolds Family of England and Virginia 1530-1948? Little confused because the book has these dates: b. 01/29/1843, d. 07/16/1930. Have you ever come across descrepancies like this?
My mother is Nina Elizabeth Reynolds who is the chid of Robert Meador Reynolds and Nina Louise Barnwell buried at Ebenezer in Camp County TX.
Trying to also update some records.
If you have any questions about Barnwell or Reynolds, I will try and help.
Also Robert Reynolds later married Ruth Laney also at Ebenezer.
