Working on my family tree led me to begin posting to Find A Grave in hopes that it will make it easier for others to locate information when they start working on their family histories. Thanks to Find A Grave and its volunteers I have been able to find ancestors that I would never have found on my own.|
Please verify the information you submit for editing or correcting - just because the name is the same, don't assume that it is the same person you are researching.
If I have entered one of your relatives, and you would like me to remove them, make a correction, or would like to link them, click on the edit button on the memorial and use the suggestion line to contact me. Due to my email being hacked twice I have chosen not to make my email address public. Please keep any communications civil, and I shall do the same. I always try to check for duplicates before posting, but sometimes miss them. I will gladly make corrections or will transfer ownership of any of your relatives memorials to you unless they are a direct descendant of mine. Please feel free to use any of my photos as I believe that the more we all share, the more we will all learn about our ancestors. However, I would appreciate if very much if you would acknowledge that the memorial and/or photo came from FAG, and give credit for my name. Thank You.

|Troy McMahon||Gertrude Bunker|
Hi Lorrie, I am the great grandson of Gertrude Bunker (60005182) and I was hoping that you would transfer her memorial to me. I truly appreciate it. Thank you.

I transferred my memorial of Jacob Smock to you... this way you can add additional data & make the link you requested.
Hope this is OK --
Thanks so much for the obit for him! That answers lots of questions. I couldn't find it in any newspaper I looked in. I appreciate your help! Pam
Would you like this memorial transferred to you? He is no relation to me.

You made my day yesterday. Nathan was my 3rd great grandfather's step brother, making him my step 3rd great uncle, according to FTM. I've been looking for him for about two decades, but in the wrong states. Family lore says that he was "killed by Indians", but also says he was a Pony Express rider. Thus, I've been digging along the PE Trail, despite the fact that his name did not appear in any list of PE riders. Voila, family lore was half right. Plus, the date of death on the stone matches the date of death in his father's Bible.
Some of the info in the article is right, and some is a bit wrong. Nathan was the only child of his parents to survive, and his mother died in childbirth of his younger sister. But there the story changes ... his father remarried ... twice ... and he had a huge family of step and half siblings. His mother's grave has not been found, but I have his father's (a preacher, eventually in Kansas). I will provide links.
I'm hoping you can provide more of the (apparent) news story from which the obit is (apparently) extracted. It starts with a presumption that the reader knows about "the attack". I'd like the whole story, if it is possible, or if you can provide a citation with which I can dig (and where). I want to correct the family lore.
As of later today, Nathan's parentage and family can be found on Ancestry.com in my tree, under my name.
Thanks for the great find,

Anna Carolina Bousquet LaForce 1871-1943
Thank you so much for including the obit! Carolina and her husband, William Brooks La Force had no children to remember them.
I am a great niece, my grandmother was Carolina's youngest sister.
If possible, please correct the name of her home town Pellin to Pella.
Near the end of the obit, please correct the spelling of my uncle: Dudock to Dudok
Thank you so much, Juli

THANK you for the information sent ... as you are working on this family line I have two questions as I wish to clear up an inconsistency:
1) " ... Birth Date: 27 Mar 1851 Birthplace: Ill..." (appears to be from state death index record)
2) " ... He was born Nov. 27, 1851, in Macon County ..." (Decatur Daily Review obit).
Which is correct?
Note that since my last correspondence to you, I found additional information on the son who died in Chico in 1916, and have posted to his memorial. I cannot access information on the widow from home, will have to put that off until I can get into the library for post-1923 microfilm.
