A Special Invitation: If you think or know that we are related, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I love to find long-lost relatives, both close and distant!!!
I'm especially interested in finding my long-lost 1st cousin. I've searched and searched since learning about you, but with no success.
Hi, I was born and grew up in Pikeville, Bledsoe County, TN. Since I began researching my family tree in 2007, I have learned many things about thousands of relatives that I had never known about.
I know there are many people who are, or soon will be, searching for their roots as well. I hope the information that I place on this website will assist them in locating a long-lost relative.
I'm researching the following family lines, as well as MANY OTHER LINES associated with Bledsoe County, Tennessee and MANY OTHER STATES: Allison, Anderson, Bowman, Boyd, Bradford, Campbell, Clifton, Cooke, Craig, Curry, Green, Hale, Hall, Hawkins, Holland, Larcome, Massey, Maxwell, McCoy, Pendergrass, Pleasants, Russell, Simmons, Skillern, Snow, Stanton, Steip, Stipe, Stipes, Wheeler, and others.
I'm thrilled to report that, after a multi-year effort, I'm now the proud owner of one of the elusive "Skillern Family History and Genealogy" book.
My private database contains in excess of 137,000 individuals, although I have posted only a tiny percentage of my data on Ancestry.com Family Tree, Find A Grave, etc.
I recently had my DNA analyzed through Ancestry.com and 23andMe.com. The information contained in these test results continues to be invaluable to me in my quest to learn more about my family history, my health, and where my ancestors lived thousands of years ago.
According to my haplogroup, my Boyd line is believed to have originated in a place now known as Doggerland. You can learn more about it at the following websites:

Happy hunting!!! :)
"Ancestors of Long Ago"
Written by Sandy Lamere Solari, 1998.
Ancestors of so long ago,
I'll search until I find.
Till I can prove and clearly show,
that you are truly mine.
I'll follow behind your trail of tears,
the hidden footprints of time.
Covered and buried throughout the years,
and continue each mountain to climb.
I'll search every faraway seaside shore,
and every valley below.
I'll unlock each and every door,
as my own teardrops flow.
I'll unearth the buried history of you,
and your own ancestral kin,
I'll search for that all important clue,
and open my heart to let you in.
Written by Walter Butler Palmer, 1906.
Your tombstone stands among the rest:
Neglected and alone,
The name and date are chiseled out -
on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is too late to mourn -
You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet, each of us are cells of you:
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse -
entirely not our own.
Dear ancestor, the place you filled,
a hundred years ago -
Spreads out among the ones you left,
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew -
That some day I would find the spot;
And come and visit you?

You left a tribute to your cousin Ada on her memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 130007850. If you would like a transfer of this memorial, I would be pleased to do so. I love to transfer to family members. Thanks for what you do on "Find A Grave".
|Joyce Jarvis||Mary Jones Brimberry|
Hi Sammy. Mary Jones Brimberry is my 3rd g-aunt. Her parents are my 3rd g-grandparents. You stated that she was the sister of 9 brothers but my research has only turned up 4: William, Joseph P, Thomas Jr and Enoch Madison (my gg-gf). Can you tell me who you found for the others?
My Ancestry tree can be seen at: http://person.ancestry.com/tree/1552972/person/-1129675805/facts
|Angie Henley||Bennett W. Sorrells|
By the way, I meant to add that Bennett's brother was Wiley Jones Sorrells, so I'm fairly certain that he wasn't called Wiley, also.
|Angie Henley||Bennett W. Sorrells|
Hi Sammy ~ I'm working on a UDC Supplemental Application on Bennett W. Sorrells. I found his will that he signed 5 Sep 1863 and see that it was presented in court 3 Oct 1864 which typically happened immediately after the person died. I found his military records which were very brief. He mustered in on 5 Sep 1863 so he must have had his will drawn up before signing up. In Dec 1863 his record shows him "sick in hospital". There's no further record for him. Since you know that he died at home of the measles I'm assuming you have some sort of written record. Do you have any further records for him after Dec 1863?
I'm a descendant of his brother, Richard Tully Sorrells. I've found CSA records for 3 brothers (Wiley, Bennett and A.H.) plus Charles S. gave service as Postmaster during the War. Wiley and Bennett both died of illness during the War. A.H. was badly wounded in Atlanta in 1864 and sent home but survived.
I've visited Clegg Cemetery in Walton County. Someone placed markers for this family, but there are no dates - only names. It's sad that the property owner turns cows loose in the cemetery and many headstones have been knocked over and graves trampled and covered with patties.
Thank you for any info you can share.
|Kenneth Wages||edit request|
You recently left me an edit for Aramay Chasten Wages that listed her parents. I had that information, but had not been able to find their findagrave memorial number to link it. Thank you for providing me the link. It is now linked on her memorial. Are you related in any way to Aramay? She is my aunt (by marriage) - so if you are related to her, you are also related to me. If so, please give me the relationship.
Thank you for the edits

Please find out as much info as you can about the location of the stone. I was there today 12/23/2016 and it was tough to find stones. There wasn't an office or anyone on the property and for some reason all of the street/lot signs were painted over in black. I will try again another time.

You posted an image here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=94154428 that don't belong. The only pics that are supposed to be posted on memorials are pics of the person, the person & their family, the person's headstone or a scanned image like a death certificate.
You posted a pic of a flag to a non-sponsored memorial that has a 5 pic limit. These types of pics & also graphics belong down in the flowers/notes section where there is no limit. You also posted a graphic of a guy holding a flag down in the flowers/notes section. So please remove the pic.

|srs0510||Memorial # 30666598 & 68751667|
I am trying to determine if I am possibly related to Andrew Wallace, Memorial # 30666598 & 68751667. I am curious to know if this is a relative of yours and/or if you know anything else about him.
My maternal grandmother's paternal grandmother was born a Wallace but after months of searching we can not prove her parentage. We were always told that we were in someway related to William Alexander Anderson "Bigfoot" Wallace. As Bigfoot never married nor had children, we assumed he was a great uncle. I can not confirm that either. So I'm trying to find other Wallaces in Virginia to see if perhaps he is a cousin, as well as to determine from which Wallace line we descended.
I see that you are related so I am hoping you have more information that I haven't been able to find.
