I have been researching my family history for several years. I recently found findagrave.com. I became a member thinking I could have my ancestors resting places documented here where future generations of my family would have an easier time finding them then I. While searching FAG I contacted some very kind people that helped me with my research and inspired me to "pay it forward". I decided to be a volunteer photo taker to that end. If I can help just let me know. |
"Your tombstone stands among the rest; neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care; it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist; you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse; entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled so many years ago Spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you."

|Patti W.||Thank you so much|
Thank you for your kindness in taking the photo of Eric Ridgway's gravestone. I live in NC and haven't been able to see it in person so it was closure of a sort. God Bless you and keep you in his care.

"Your Welcome. We were vacationing in the area so we tried to pick up all the request there but somehow we missed a few." Black Hills National Cemetery
My dad's other sister asks are you from Sturgis? I'm guessing you're from Colorado?

Thanks very much for taking the time to photograph Dick's headstone. It's a long way to South Dakota from where I live, so I doubt that I would ever have had the chance to take the picture myself.
This is a very nice community service that you are doing. I'll try to pay your kindness forward.
