PHOTOS: Any photo I have posted on Find-a-Grave is intended to be used...please consider this your permission to copy and/or post any of my photos.|
DUPLICATES: I try my best to do a thorough check before entering any memorials. I will never intentionally create a duplicate, although sometimes it just happens with the delay in the Find-a-Grave system at times. Even if my memorial was entered first, I will usually delete IF the other memorial is complete. My interest is not in numbers but in the precious souls who walked among us on this earth and their descendants who may search for them in the future.
CORRECTIONS: I'll be happy to make corrections on any of my entries if needed, or I will gladly transfer memorials to family members (at my discretion when it involves my kinfolks). I would appreciate your using the "Edit" function to request corrections.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

MANY thanks for all you did to get the information documented for Hulda Lee Shifflett ~ Tapley Goode Farmer. It is very rewarding to see the family circle take shape again. I hope you know how appreciated you are for all your hard work for so many!

Thank you so much for adding him to several of his children.

Thank you for the changes you made to this memorial. But I see now that his spouse is listed twice. Can you remove one of them. I thank you.
Thank you so much for leaving Daniel S. Frackowiak Jr.s information. However, I do have a question to ask....does anyone know who placed the headstone with the incorrect information? His name was Daniel, not David.
The other info was correct: b. 23 Jun 1943, d 24 Jun 1943, bur. 25 Jun 1943 in Sweetwater Cemetery, Sweetwater, TX. Yates Funeral Home (now Cate-Spencer) handled the arrangements, but I called them and they did not place the stone.
Dulcie Frackowiak Brown (Daniel Jr.s 1/2 sister)
P.S. If anyone knows, thank you so much for filling in the blanks.

Am trying to compile brief family bios. Have found very few clues for my great-uncle Ralph, and great-aunt Hazel. Photos are practically nonexistent. Only two have I located of Ralph. One is of him at age four, the other at about fifteen. Both are taken at the (Bar) "- C Ranch" over in Coke and Sterling Counties. None have appeared for Aunt Hazel, though I did meet her once in her home in Sweetwater. If I recall correctly, she had a bevy of nieces. Since Sweetwater is your hometown, would you know any of her family members, who might have access to pictures of the Collins' couple? I so wish for them to have a small album that visually portrays their lives. Thank you for contributing the one picture I have found of them together - their final resting place.
Please let me know if you learn any more about their individual and/or married lives. I truly appreciate your time and efforts.
All the best,

You're welcome, Janie, it's always a pleasure.

I've sent an obit for him but you'll notice I left off the day for the date the paper published the article; because it was published April 6 and the marker shows death date April 30. So, I thought it best to let it lie and I usually go by the marker regardless.
