Bio

I've been retired for several years and revived an old interest in family history that led me to the Find A Grave site and to several living kinfolk I had not even known of before, plus numerous kind folk who have helped me research.
My family runs the gamut from branches that go back to the 1600s in New England to new arrivals (by marriage) from Germany, Ukraine, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Guatemala. The general area of my interest on Find A Grave runs from Texas up through Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, plus California. I have a special interest in Missouri since both branches of my family passed through there and many members still live there.
One real asset I enjoy (besides some first, second, and third cousins with a similar interest in genealogy) is that I inherited both my mother's and my mother-in-law's photo collections, which include images dating back more than 100 years.
Surnames I'm interested in include, besides Blair, also Herring, Percy, Hayes, Veale, Barnes, Patterson, Rogers, Piggott, Marvin, Reeves, Linville, Boone, Callaway, Grigg, McWilliams, Rowe, Dando, Hume, Hersh.
In addition I am researching my late wife's very different family, immigrants from Central Europe and Scandinavia in the late 19th century with names that include Franz, Nielsen, Wilensky/Williams, Gunderson and Rohner.
