Bio Photo I no longer make changes, additions, transfers from messages left on my contributor page. Please follow FindAGrave procedures by using the Edit tab on the memorial page to request changes, additions, request transfers, etc.

Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to Ancestry.com or any other website or personal webpages.

I follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers of memorials:

Second, Transfer requests will be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials.

RE: Martin V. DeWitt 37383531
all I have to go on are "family trees"....what you do is up to you....you could always change it again later if it gets proven wrong, but I don't think that will happen

Raymond Child
I saw your photo request for Child Raymond (127097477) - there is only one Raymond child - Charles Pratt Raymond (127097387).

RE: Jane Mary Wood Johnston Michel
Thank you very much for your excellent information about Jane/Mary's name variations. I try to use birth names in my genealogy database but can definitely see where on Find A Grave it would be best to use the name a person used in adulthood. - Anne

RE: Edward Allen
Thanks for your reply. Although I've tried some of those searches, I haven't dug deep... I'll keep looking! If I ever find something it will be a real find! It's great so many people like you are sharing their work. em

Although you stated no reply was needed, I just wanted you to know that the Hardin County deaths is the only project I am working on. Sometimes when I pull up the death certificates on FamilySearch.org, there are marriage records, often also listing full names so I might send that also (full names of parents).

Just wanted you to know where the edits are coming from.

James George Payne
FindAGrave #99148874

I have been researching Paynes (J.G.'s sister was my husband's ancestor) and I have been sent some photos from a distant relative, some not labeled. One appears to be James George Payne, but not the exact one posted on FindAGrave. Do you know where I might find the source of the one posted to compare? The eyes, moustache, shape of the face seem to match. Thank you for your work on FindAGrave!

Edward Allen "Ned" Hannegan # 94258527
I want to thank you so much for the detailed information you included in the biography of Edward A. Hannegan, who was killed by his friend Hains. EAH was my great uncle-- BROTHER to Duncan Hannegan, who was listed as his father in one of the articles you included. I'm assuming it was from a newspaper article- but I can't tell. It mentions telegrams.

Sellman Hannegan was Edward Hannegan's father.

All in all, the story is so sad and even though I have saved some newspaper articles myself, I don't think I'd seen such a description of the tragedy.

Sellman Hannegan was a son of Senator Edward Allen Hannegan and his wife was the daughter of Thomas Henry Nelson and Lizzie Key-- illustrious family with a good deal of tragedy (typical of the time). Yet, it can be VERY hard to find information about Hannegan family.

Again- thank you for the time you took to find and post this information. Emily

RE: James Gibbon Carter
I wish I had a record of when the stone was placed, but I don't. The only thing I have is the Association of Graduates register which states that he died as a result of an accident on June 2, 1835. He was in the class of 1837.

RE: Helen J. Stribling
It's difficult to keep many of the Stribling men straight. I think there are a bizillion William Striblings! I have two Cornelius Striblings and 8 Cornelius K (Kincheloe) Striblings!

I'll do some more searching in the documentation I have, and let you know what I find. What is the source for the information that the remains were moved from Norfolk? I don't have it as a note in my data, and I think I would have added it if it was in Mary Frances' book. I'll also search all the Stribling email I saved from when the list was active on Rootsweb.
