Researching and documenting my family history is one of the most important works of my life. While looking for my family - I photo cemeteries to be able to help others. I feel everyone should know as much about their ancestors as possible. Through my research I have been able to spend quality time with my sister, Janet Bertram Hallmark and my mother, Norma Davidson Bertram.(Mother passed away on April 6, 2013 and we really miss her helping). We travel the great state of Texas visiting ancestors graves and photo documenting as much as possible. Findagrave is a wonderful place that has brought lots of people into my life I would never have known otherwise. I like filling photo requests when possible. We need to all keep up the good work. Thanks to all who are working so hard.
I follow the Fin A Grave guidelines for transfers. "Transfer requests must follow Find A Grave guidelines. Be specific on your relationship. Must be the four generations as listed in the rules. I will make corrections, additions, & family links when asked. Use the Edit tab, then the Suggest A Correction option & include your email address."
My photos may be used for family trees, but please ask first. I have found many of my photos on a Find A Grave members Ancestry.com file with no credit or permission being given. Please read the rules for photo use in the Find A Grave help. Many hours are spent taking photos and the photographer should be given credit.
NEW FINDAGRAVE FEATURE

I have been researching my Stephenson/Munn relatives and came across this gentleman. It was with great sadness that I read his headstone had been buried under six inches of dirt, considering the person had only been interred about 29 years at the time you added his records to the Find a Grave web site. Apparently, there is no one who cares for this cemetery, which is a shame. Thank you for taking the time and energy to resurrect his headstone once more. I appreciate your work on Find a Grave and at this cemetery.
With All Sincerity, Kathie L. Webb Blair, Portland, Oregon

Hi, Sandra ~ I just found this memorial for Michael McAneny, a distant relation of my husband. The correct birthplace for him is Johnstown (as in flood), Cambria County, PA. If you found something w/ one of those odd abbreviations, I can see how one might interpret the city & county as you did.

Also, you can see my extensive research of the Womack family at
I hope you will decide to defer to a descendant to care for these memorials. Thank you.

They are my 4th great-grandparents. I am the one that placed the Citizen of the Republic of Texas markers for them in about 2008 before I moved out of Texas. When I last lived there the property owner was mowing the cemetery, spraying for weeds, and attempting to keep his cattle, etc. out of the cemetery. It seemed the best that could be done at the time and would at least keep it from decaying further. Perhaps there is now a different owner or he has not been able to keep up his initial efforts.
I prefer to own memorials for a number of my direct ancestors if possible, unless another descendant is caring for it. Many people have no view for aesthetics and I think it is appropriate when an descendant is interested to defer to them. I also sponsor my direct ancestor memorials, but I do not like to do this if someone else owns it.
If you are not a descendant, I hope you will consider deferring.

I am a Vermont Civil War uff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "Old Soldiers. George Gee is one such patriot. May I use the photo you contributed to his F.A.G Memorial, to post on the Vt. C.W.site?( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you for your prompt response. It's done -- I created a memorial for Mary Elena Thomas with links to her parents and spouse, William Alexander Martin, and sent edit suggestions to the other two contributors.
