RE: Thomas Richard Baird
I would have never guessed that, so, are his birth and death dates on the gravestone?

Janet, would you take a close look at the new photo of Thomas Richard Baird's Gravestone (Find A Grave #40435719). If I squint real hard, it seems his birth year was 1813, which makes him much older that Sarah Ann Rigg, not that matters much.

I have copies of a compilation of my family line, which includes newspaper articles, pictures, stories, etc... I believe my first cousin once removed, Luella Parker Cook, is the author. It was sent to me by my 1st cousin twice removed, Kelly Parker Hill.

I'll have to look through my papers to see if it's family lore or from a published source. His brother, Lines Lewis Parker, is my Great-Great-Grandfather.

Elizabeth Studebaker Wise
There are notices of her death and settling her estate in 1894, mentioning her husband Samuel. In determining the correct date it probably be prudent to check the death records.

Thank you, you were absolutely right. This time I traced them back to the 1600's, and one of the puritan families. So this was quite interesting. All the John's and Catherine's was confusing, but after your clue, much easier. So, thank you for the tip! You always take a chance when you try to add info to these memorials, so corrections and tips are always welcome. In the end, there is an interesting memorial to someone that shouldn't be forgotten.

Kevin Frye Andersonville Historian
RE: Abner Ainger
Hi Janet,
When I was a historian at Andersonville for the NPS.. I took on a project in 2010 to photograph all of the 14000 Union headstones at Andersonville. The stones had just been cleaned which makes for great clean photos. When the NPS took control of Andersonville NTL cemetery, they replaced a hundred or so of the 1989 headstones with more modern looking stones with engraved name and shield and not the type with the recessed shield. Back in 2009 when Obama was handing out money, a large amount was sent to Andersonville where the Supt. decided to replace these historically inaccurate 1970s stones with new period correct with the recessed shield. Abners headstone was one of these which is why its so clean and white. I have decided to make certain all Find A Grave memorials have their photos at Andersonville which will take some time, but as I check each one, I am adding my photos where they are well... to be honest ,,, better photos. Cheers
