Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my German ancestry for about 10 years. My family came to Calumet and Manitowoc counties in Wisconsin beginning in 1850. My Ortlepp ancestors came from Gotha, Thuringen; my Hass and Schildhauer ancestors came from the Eckernfoerde district of Schleswig Holstein; my Koeppen ancestors came from Dargun, Mecklenburg. I was born in Sheboygan but now I live in Rhode Island. My family tree on is HASS ORTLEPP SCHILDHAUER KOEPPEN BATTEY.

I am also researching my Irish side. Clark/G?rman side from somewhere in Ireland, my Mohan/Finnegan side from County Monaghan.

Bruhn Family New Holstein WI
Hi Donna:
I was in New Holstein over the weekend doing some research and am working on updates to my tree. I am guessing we may be connected. Bruhn/Wilkens are my family 3rd grandparents. I would enjoy connecting if possible.

RE: Moleti family of Nahant
I went to Pine Grove today and found the Peckham plot. There are eight people on the stone but Rose isn't one of them.

RE: Moleti family of Nahant
Thanks for the information. I've unlinked Edward and Rose until one of us can come up with more definitive information. Regarding James Peckham - there is a James P Peckham, 1895-1961 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA. Memorial # 73305269. Says he was the son of William H and Luella A Peckham. Could this be your James P.A Peckham?

your book "Ancestors of Edward Hass and Emma Ortlepp"

My Calumet County families are mostly Schluchters, Leuthges, but they married into and connected with Pingel, Hass, Birkholz, Winkler, Popp, Christel and many other families in Calumet and Manitowoc Counties.

My Grandmother always referred to her family as coming from "the other side of the Lake". I was born and raised in Oshkosh.

Anyway, I appreciate all the effort you have taken on Find a Grave.

I have grown more and more interested in the lives of these early pioneers. Their courage and strength must have been enormous.

So I was wondering if it is possible to still obtain a copy of your book? I came across a reference to it somewhere.

Thank you very much.

Ortlepp Family
My husband and I found my great grandparents, great-great grandparents and great-great-great grandparents today. The only place we didn't get to was the Free German Cemetery. We're not really sure where that is. Do you know where it is?

Royal Family Ties

With Constantin Ortlepp and family being born in Gotha Germany, have you ever come accross any ties to the British Royal Family since the original name of the House of Windsor was the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha?

I had been doing some research and discovered that Gotthilf Maximilian Ortlepp is my Great Great Grandfather. Looks like that makes us 1st cousins twice removed.

RE: Lynn, Mass Mahoney's
Hi Donna,

Thank you for taking the time to photograph the Mahoney marker. We are just delighted. As for Patrick's date of birth, I based my date on the 1900 census and it seemed to agree with several other records. Of course we know that many of those early dates are inaccurate, so we just do the best we can. Thank you once again for your efforts.
