I became interested in genealogy through the Leftwich Historical Association, but am building family trees from all sides of my, and my husband's, families.|

|Betty Saunders||RE: Hello|
Joseph J Saunders, III
DOD 3/17/09 (Just so happens, 8 yrs ago today.)
You provided a photo of the marker on his grave with his obit. That was very nice to find. I could not help but ask you about Mr. Helmintoller.
He was certainly an exceptional pastor and was really respected within my then church, Main Street United Methodist Church. Where do you live? and how did you wind up in Bedford's grave yard? My aunt, who is buried just to my husbands grave, Mary Quarles Saunders (just happened to also marry a Saunders) was one of Mr. Helmintoller's greatest fans I think. My mom asked him to marry her when she remarried after my dad passed. Great to make your acquaintance. I will look up in my husband's high school book and see if I can remember his son's name.
Frances, first, thank you for the photo of my husbands stone. I could not help but ask you if you by any chance are any relation to my Methodist pastor from Bedford VA, Peter Helmintoller. He was a very special person to our family. I remember him having a son, but cannot quickly think of his name. It would just be great to find out more about his family. Thank you.

Hi there---if you'd like Mr. Kidd's memorial transferred, I'm happy to do so. Looks like you two had a history!
|Diane Clobus Dean||Gladys Beckstrom|
I have added Elizabeth as Gladys' middle name. Also, I have transferred her memorial to you. You didn't request a transfer but with the Beckstrom name I figured you are likely to be family.

Would you happen to have a picture of his home? I see you have a partial picture with his profile on your page. Thank you!
|Pamela Castret||Pvt. George Washington Alcock|
I was so thrilled to find this information on your
site! George Washington Alcock is my great uncle. George's sister, Angeline, is my great grandmother. She married my great grandfather Andrew Jackson Snead. My granddaddy is John Thomas Snead. I have a picture of Eliza, George and Angeline's sister, taken in Covington, Va in 1913. If you don't have a picture of her I would love to share this picture with you. My name is Pam Castret. I live in Brandon, Florida. I just started on Ancestry a couple of years ago. This is just fascinating! My email is Southernsigner59@aol.com. The names I research are Alcock, Snead, Claytor, Hobstetter, Mootz, Muntz and Kelley. Thank you again and let me know if you would like a copy of this picture. I'm not sure how to add them here but could copy and email it to you.

Thank you for your generosity in transferring:
Esther Pauline Beamer Sullender # 99472181
to my care. I have successfully connected her with her parents, sister and brother, husband and son. As I receive more information, I will be adding it to Our shared memorial.
With sincerest appreciation,

That is too bad. I am sorry I didn't realize you were looking only for Helmintoller information.
You have put a tremendous effort into supporting Find a Grave and that is no easy task.
I value the information and research by the Helmintollers. I have felt that the Johnstons/Johnsons/Helmintoller and Plymale were very interwoven and thought it important in establishing complete information especially as it relates to their own family cemetery.
My Dad was Glenn Hoke, and as you are aware, related to about half of Alleghany County as are the Helmintollers.
Keep up the good work.
|Erma Chambers||Mary Anne Polly Johnson Helmintoller|
She is my 4th great aunt. Her parents were William Johnston b. abt. 1778 Botetourt County and died Nov 1851 Covington. Her mother was Susannah Harrison b. 18 Jan 1775 Botetourt and died 1830 Alleghany County VA.
If you would like, I can provide her sibling information. I have spent six years researching this side of my family and have considerable information.
