I'm a son of Northwestern Pennsylvania, now living in Western New York. A history buff and Navy veteran now retired from the VA who thinks that this is our heritage, and our legacy. It is the least we can do for our ancestors and for each other.

I never met you, I saw you yesterday.
You saved my life, you held my hand, you calmed my heart and you quenched my tears.
You are my mother, my father, my child, my friend, my brother.
I hear your voice with my heart, and my soul if not my ears.
I cast my bread upon the waters, pour out my libations, stand my stations and honor you with kind, loving acts and salutations.

Before the dust and before the ashes was the sea of undying love.
