These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They may or may not sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead. |

Findagrave was built by thousands of volunteers who's time was donated for the benefit of family members and friends,,who in many cases are not able to visit the resting places of their family members. These efforts were always intended to be free of charge and should remain that way,,,,,
"I have a burr under the Saddle on this one" that being pay sites "profiting" from Volunteers work....
In the end, never let yourself become complacent to those who have went before us. Always make time to remember the sacrifices that have been made for us by our Ancestors.
Never forget the Men and Women of our Armed Forces who have guarded our Constitution with their lives, some giving all to secure our rights, liberties and freedoms.
Remember the 100's of thousands soldiers who never came home, many who lie in a unmarked graves, never found or a foreign cemetery as that would indeed make those lives,, lost in vein... Reach out,, honor a Veteran.
Allow us not to embrace any politician. aristocrat, celebrity, who in the name of change, forgets or attempts to direct us to think otherwise..
A Nation which forgets its Defenders,
will itself be forgotten ..
.. God bless America..

Would you mind replacing the picture of Vern in uniform with another, higher res picture, that I would supply you for posting. It is a picture taken at the same photo shoot, but with Vern's wife, Lenora pictured next to him. Or. both can stand in the memorial. (I am Lenora's cousin.)

Emeric Fredrick Fijacko (memorial #96016532) is my family member on my mother's side. I would appreciate if you would consider transferring this memorial to my care (acct# 46915890). I'm a vet myself and would like to care for those family members memorials that are also vets. I appreciate your help with caring for my family members memorial thus far.
