|S Jaquith||Francies Alberta Ferry Wilson|
Francis Asbury Ferry (born 1866, d Dec 19, 1889, buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Site O-43) m. Lillie Venetti Jamesson - their daughter was Frances Alberta Ferry, born June 7, 1890.
Can't find anything after Frances Alberta Ferry's marriage to Allen Wilson, Jr in 1907 & the 1910 census listing of her - but not Allen Wilson - as living in the household of Clement O & Lillie Jamesson Ferry Pierce (her step-dad & mother)
|S Jaquith||Frances Ferry|
Frances A Ferry, dau of Lillie Jamesson Ferry Pierce by Lillie's first marriage to Francis A Ferry, is listed as "Frances A Wilson" in the 1910 census & is shown as part of the household of her step-father Clement O Pierce & mother Lillie. Since she married in 1907 at age 17, wonder if the marriage to 18 year old Allen E Wilson worked? He's not listed as part of the household.
|S Jaquith||Please add Frances A Ferry to Clement O Pierce|
Thanks for all your work! I continue to find records on this family. Clement O. Pierce married Lillie Venetti Jamesson Ferry...she was the widow of bricklayer Francis Asbury Ferry (some records spell his name as "Frances"). Lillie and Francis were married July 23, 1888 - Francis died on Dec 19, 1889, at age 23. That short marriage produced a daughter, Frances A Ferry. Lillie married Clement soon after becoming widowed, so little Frances really only knew Clement and Lillie as the parents who raised her. She is named as their daughter in family records. Clement would have been Frances' step-father. Frances was born in 1890 & at age 17 married Allen E Wilson, Jr. on Dec 9, 1907 in Washington, DC. Allen was 18; his probable year of birth was 1889. Most of this info came from the Mormon site, Family Search. Lillie Jamesson Ferry Pierce was my grandmother's older half-sister.
|S Jaquith||Add daughter to Clement & Lillie V Pierce please|
Daughter: Lillie Venetti Pierce, b 13 June 1896 (one record says 1897), d Apr 23, 1984
Married Marvin Rexrode;
Lillie & Marvin Rexrode's son was George M Rexrode
Lillie Venetti (Pierce) Rexrode is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, DC
|S Jaquith||Lily V (Jamesson, Ferry) Pierce|
Lily Venetti (Jamesson, Ferry) Pierce was born between 1860-1870 to Colville A Jamesson (Union soldier, S of Malcolm & Julia Jamesson who owned the historic Mt Gilead home place in Centreville, VA (open for tours during Sept "Centreville Days""...Colville moved to DC and married Chlora Ann "Chlory" Davis, my g-grandmother around 1860. Colville & Chlora had 5 children before he died in 1870. Chlora's father paid for his grave in Glenwood Cemetery, DC. The widow Chlora married George Walter DeMent, my g-grandfather. Chlora "Chlory" had 5 more children with her second husband George Walter DeMent. Their youngest child, Maud Evelyn (DeMent) Shearer, was my grandmother. My mother, Chlora Ann (Shearer) Jaquith was named for her grandmother & was also affectionately nicknamed "Chlory".
There is a woman in Easton, MD who'S, done extensive research on the Mt Gilead, Centreville, VA, Jamessons. She is related to the Jameson's. The Mt Gilead estate was settled in the early 1900s and proceeds divided among heirs. Lily Jamesson Ferry Pierce would've been an heir.
My mother & aunt (my mom's twin) spoke of Lily V as "Aunt Nettie". Her first husband, Francis Ferry, died after one year of marriage. Some of the DeMent & Shearer plots at Glenwood were purchased by "Lily Ferry" , presumably before Lily married her second husband, Clement O Pierce. Lily (Jamesson) and Francis Ferry had one daughter, Frances Ferry. My side of the family was told that Lily and Clement Pierce took their lives together in their garage-parked car with exhaust running.
Lillie and her younger sister, Genevieve Penelope (Jamesson) Wood were very close to their younger half-sisters, Grace E (DeMent) Phelps and my grandmother, Maud E (DeMent) Shearer. Genevieve Penelope, Grace, and Maud are all buried with their spouses at Glenwood. With so many children, Lily and Cement apparently sent some to live with family members. Their daughter, Grace, is listed in the 1910 & 1920 census records as living with Lily's younger half-sister, Grace DeMent Phelps, and her pharmacist-husband, William P Phelps, of 51 Quincy Pl, NE, DC. One of Lily and Clement's daughters, also named LIly, was always referred to by my mother as "Cousin Lily". I have a set of Cousin Lillie'S nesting tables.
There were many family secrets among this side of the Jamesson family, as well as the DeMents and Shearer. My mother and her twin were told they were born at the 51 Quincy Pl NE, DC, address in 1921. However, no birth records exist and we now know that Maud and her husband were not the twins' birth parents. Maud was the youngest child of The ten born to Chlora (Davis, Jamesson) DeMent. She was childless until age 36, when the twins were born. As was common in those days, babies were given to others in the family. My mom and aunt (both deceased) wondered if Lily Venetti Pierce might have been their biological mom. Or might it have been Lily's daughter Grace - who was a teenager living at Quincy Place when the twins were born? They wondered if Ruth Pierce Hershey (Lily V's daughter) might have been their mom, as she died just after the twins were born & is buried at Glenwood. Or maybe it was Grace DeMent Phelps, Lily V's younger half-sister who was living at Quincy Place, was in her 40s and died several months after the twins' birth. Or it might have been someone on Maud's husband' side of the family. Anyone interested in doing a DNA test - it might help narrow down the field as to which side of the family the twins were born in (we'll not be able to pinpoint their birth parents, of course). Yes, Francis is in Glenwood. I'm also looking for info on Lily's father. I've found a listing for a "Colbert Jamesson" on her grandfather's plat record at Glenwood, but I can't find him listed anywhere else. He's not in any of their other records as their earliest book is missing.

|Bridges||Lily V. Pierce|
The records at Glenwood say her first husband Francis died of typhoid in his early 20s. I haven't found any records of her and Clement's deaths, other than the death certificates which weren't even really filled out. You mention that they were found in different rooms - do you have any source you could share?
