Bio and Links
Bio Photo If I manage someone you are related to, send me a note using the "EDIT tab." I will transfer the memorial to you when not specifically associated with my core ancestors.

However, if I've already completed extensive research on the deceased, by adding links and a biography, there is no need for a transfer. I myself use the great Find A Grave feature "Virtual Cemeteries." This is a wonderful way to keep track of family memorials managed by others.

I'm happy to add additional "sourced" information to memorials I manage, and grateful for any corrections to errors I may have made.

Please use the EDIT tab if you find an error in my research, or if you wish to add information. If your edit can be verified with records, I will add it to the memorial.

I'm Grateful to Volunteer my time 😀 And hope my efforts will help other researchers.

Best regards,
Shari

Here is a nice website for calculating the birth date from stones that list only death date and age at death. Before you use the calculator, please read the fine print at the bottom of the page, which begins with; While doing some testing on this with 30+ death certificates already containing a birth date, death date, and age, I have found it to be only 39% accurate. It was 1-3 days off 38.5% of the time and more than 3 days the remaining 22.5%

THIS IS A CEMETERY
Lives are commemorated, deaths are recorded, families are reunited, memories are made tangible and love is undisguised. This is a cemetery.

Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.

Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life; not death, of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.

A cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering, always.

RE: Manning Case, #92362330
Hello Shari.
I added the info including the birth information. Please check to see if any other changes are needed. I am planning to visit the site soon to see what is exactly there. The lot map indicates a family monument of some type, and there may be an inscription that was overlooked.
There was one other piece of information that I overlooked, the burial order. Let me list the first seven as only #6 has a date of death. Maybe you will recognize someone else:
1) Betsy Case (no DoD)
2) Mother
3) Manning Case (no DOD but 1843 from headstone)
4) Lucy H. Case (no Dod)
5) M.T.W. (no Dod)
6) May E. Case (9-25-1876)
7) Margaret O'Brien

I can send the lot register if you like.
Thanks,
Bob D.

Well we are just a bucket of nothing for help for the other! :) I only know Sandra exists because of Robert's obituary. I don't have anything for her or her husband. Since it doesn't mention his name, I'm guessing they might be divorced.

Sorry I couldn't help either!

Hi Shari,
I am researching my husband's maternal side, the very large Schaefer family. Robert married Mary (Smith) Schaefer, after her young husband, Harold Schaefer died.

Based on Mary's age at the time of her 2nd marriage, I'm guessing the father of the daughter mentioned in Robert's obituary was Harold. Can you verify this?

Thanks!
Colleen

Manning Case, #92362330
Hello Shari.
I was looking for the daughter of a family in another part of Forest Lawn and found a lot map that I am almost certain has her and her husband, Francis Manning Case.
I noted that the map has 28 burials on this lot but only 10 markers and the central obelisk.
Taking a chance from the very limited information from this lot map and almost no online documentation, I created 3 memorials:
Nehemiah, Sophia & Lucy Case
and linked them. This was mainly to let you know some information is available. Please let me know if anything I have done is incorrect or if I should delete the memorials.
Ordinarily I would try to visit the site first to see if there are markers and take photos, as well as the areas of the burials that are unmarked.

Hi Shari

You posted a fabulous image of Rev John Lothrop on your findagrave summary of this illustrious man. Can you let me know if you have a high-resolution image of his portrait that you could share with me for a family history I am working on? Or can you tell me where you found this image" Kindest regards

Wow, thank you Shari!
Shari thanks for your awesome work here at Find-a-Grave. I'm impressed with your thorough research and generosity with which you share information and manage memorials while still being willing to share your research by transferring memorials to those more closely related to the person. That's hard to do after having put in so much research and time to build an accurate profile of dates, places, and biography so thousands of descendants can discover their family roots. We are all very grateful to you. Thanks for your admirable genealogical work and great community attitude. I love to surf Find-a-Grave to see how I fit into our great human family.
