I am related to John Colter also. He is my 4x great grandfather.... Hirem Jefferson Colter. Had amongst many sons.one named Joseph. Joseph had my great grandpa William Joseph Colter. William had my grandpa John Lawrence Colter. John Lawrence move to El Paso Arkansas.after serving in World War 1 married my grandma and had my mom Virginia Lee Colter King. So how are we related?
|Tiffany Jones||Hi Peggy|
I am 5th or 6 generation grandchild of Colter. My dad is so much like him as far as hunting and loving the country. My dad kind of looks like him too. We called my dad mountain man. I always wondered where all my families member were and who they are.
|Diana Spurgeon||John Colter|
Just found this website. John Colter was my GG
Grandfather too. We are just getting into my
mothers family history. Its funny to see there
are family members out there that we didn't know
anything about. It you have any further info,
please let me know. Thank you.

Hi, Peggy - Bethel Cemetery is in what used to be Pond, Missouri, and has now been incorporated into Wildwood, Missouri. Wildwood is in St. Louis County in the west suburbs. I don't have any information on Malissa or her family as I only took the photograph. You may want to contact the creator of the memorial as she may have additional information on the family of Malissa.
What a wonderful memory you experienced with your GG Grandfather visiting the place that he had carved. Sincerely, Rachel
What an interesting life your gg Grandfather had!
