My deepest thanks and appreciation to the creator of Find A Grave and to the thousands of volunteers who continue to make it possible, This website has enabled me to locate headstones and connect families. Visiting cemeteries has often resulted in some interesting experiences. |
I haven't any objections to transferring 'out of guideline' memorials. Even some of my distant family members. Just ask and I'll let you know one way or the other. After fifty years of research I am not into trying to collect ancestors or non-related memorials.
Thank you for visiting my page.

I see you suggested several edits for ARMSTRONG graves in the Elkhorn Cemetery near Virden, which I just approved.
I am not related to any of these people, I was just fulfilling photo requests at the cemetery. If you are a relative, would you like to take over management of the following memorials?
Francis Armstrong #171859527
Elizabeth Armstrong #171859572
Anna Armstrong #171859602
Let me know :)

You might see a lot of edits from me for entries you have created in this cemetery. This is because I have begun the process of entering all the photos I took this past summer (I photographed 100% of the cemetery).
So, if you have any doubts about an edit, go to the entry you created and you will likely see a new picture of a stone.
|Judy Stacey||RE: Robert Long Kilborn|
Hi, I was quite young when I was in Manitoba visiting relatives of my Mom's. Have been to Virden. Remember visiting my Mom's Aunt Verna and Uncle Charlie Colquhoun and I believe that was Virden. Verna was my Grandma Eva's sister. We visited relatives one time, possibley McAuley, I was young so what I remember was an older couple their daughter and son in law. I remember the son in law was bald and I think he had been ill. Have met many of the relatives over the years. When I was 10 there was a family reunion in Portage La Prairie, my grandparents all 7 kids and spouses except one - Aunt Eileen, and all grandkids were there.
So I am curious, are we related? Do I or should I have you in my tree.
Thanks again for the transfer. Judy

hank you for photographing and posting the headstone.
Its unfortunate the bottom part isn't more legible
I'm able to read the info on Thomas but hard to make out lower portion but then again it might just be these old eyes.

Hi BCdocwalker, thanks very much for the photo of Freda Graham Swail and husband Coral. Your time and effort are appreciated, Keith
I'm just getting back into doing some ancestor research after visiting the Edina, Dalesville and Lachute Cemeteries in September 2015.
Thanks for all the info about my (our?) family you have added here. I'll add what I can from my personal family records.
