I walked through that cemetery a few days ago and took hundreds of pictures so I'm sure I have some others that you have requested. Its just going to take awhile to get through them all and post them.

Hi Shirley. Can't remember what I said in my note but yes, I am a 7th great-grandson of Jacob Bachman. My grandmother was my Bachman connection. Sorry for the delayed response recently moved and it has been hectic the past few months.

Good memory again! I live in Escondido, California, which is a little north and inland from San Diego. And I just turned 76.
Good wishes to you.

I love doing this. Don't forget I have the records to both Gnaden Huetten and Lehighton Cemetery, so just ask.

RE: Daniel Dietrich
Daniel's wife was Bessie Miller from Treverton area near Shamokin. Bessie's grandparents owned the well-known bakery near town.

As a kid when we visited Centralia or Shamokin we would stop at the bakery and bring back to Baltimore bread, rolls. My mon would say to my dad what are we going to do with all this bake good!

So you name is Miller - Bessie Miller married my uncle Daniel Dietrich. So one on their site had Bessie ? I was able to provide her maiden name.

RE: Daniel Dietrich
Daniel Dietrich is buried Loudon Park National Cemetery, Baltimore City, Maryland. He is WW1 Vet.
He was murdered in Baltimore City on 12/02/1933.
I am still working on getting his last name corrected in the VA database to: Dietrich.

Francis (Frank) Dietrich and Catherine (Katie) Malloy Dietrich are buried at Sacred Hearth Cemetery, Dundalk, Maryland. They are my grandparents and Daniel was their son and my uncle.

Any information on this link let me know. It is a hugh family original from Shamokin and Centraila, PA. Frank and Katie's two daughters married McCormick brothers in Shamokin, PA. Between then they had 18 kids; and more than 50 grandkids. So there are many, many McCormicks from Shamokin, PA related to the Dietrichs. This fact I recently discovered when researching A great grandkid of a McCormick messaged me because I have same name as his mothers 'grandmother: Barbara Dietrich (McCormick). turned out she is my great Aunt; his mother and I have same great-grandparents! So it is exciting to find a McCormick that may have information or a pic of the relatives way back. As you are aware it is like pulling teeth tracing ancestry back before the 1900s.

RE: Daniel Dietrich
My e-mail address is: Barbara

Yes Daniel Dietrich was my uncle. He was in WW1 and killed (shot in back of head( in Baltimore City 12/02/1933. He is buried in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore City.

I recently got the spelling of his last name corrected. In the computerized records it is spelled Deitrich. I got copy of his military stone authorization and the correct spelling of Dietrich is: corrected the misspelling is crossed out in red and correct spelling above. I have been to VA and had to mail for Danie's military records and with that letter can go an VA will allow me to have his name spelling corrected in the VA database. That is at the top of my to do list.

My dad was the baby of that Dietrich line; my first cousins of Daniel and Bessie were grown when I was a kid.

BESSIE MILLER married Daniel Dietrich when she was 16. Daniel Dietrich was born in Centaila. I have relatives from Centraila and Shamokin PA.

Bessie Miller's family was from Treverton most likely. They owned the Bakershop we stopped at when I was a kid; they knew my dad obviously and we would bring a car load of bakery goods back to Maryland.

Barbara Dietrich - my e-mail will be easier to answer you questions about the Dietrich family, etc.

Hey Cousin,

Jacob Bachman Sr is also my 5th Great Grandfather through his son Paul Zinck Bachman 1744. I purchased the sponsorship for my Bachman Ancestrry line including Jacob Sr. If there is something you would like edited I am more than happy to manage that information. Please send me the information and supporting references

Great to hear from you and look forward to further correspondence. Every couple of years me and my sibling like to put together a family reunion. It has been wonderful to meet family members.

You Bachman cousin,

Happy to do it! I had some time before I picked my son up from school and it was a beautiful day! And I finally have a smart phone with the Find A Grave app on so I could look up the photo requests.

I grew up on Jacksonburg Road and went to the same Methodist Church as the Read's and Gladd's. I don't remember much about them but my mother and her parents knew them well.
