I am an avid amateur genealogist, researching many different lines for both family and friends. I include all collateral lines, so my area of interest is extensive.

I have added many memorials in the hope of helping a fellow researcher. Permission is granted for personal use of any of the photos I have added, please just cite the F.A.G. memorial number and cite me as the photographer. This includes ancestry.com - it's so disappointing to look at a public family tree and find one of my photographs without mention of the photographer.

I decline to give permission to use my photos for resale, for profit, or to upload to a different web site. Do not copy them to other grave related sites such as BillionGraves.com.

PLEASE remember the volunteer nature of FAG and be polite when writing. People have been less than understanding recently, wondering why the information they sent hadn't yet been added.

Dates of birth & death as well as linking to parents can been added through the automated system. If I've missed your email about additions to a memorial, just ask a second time. We're all human, no need for attitude.

TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING GRAVESTONES by Maureen Taylor

[for full article, go to Genealogy.com] http://www.genealogy.com/64_gravestones_print.html

"Technique:

Since you are creating a record of the cemetery in addition to photographing a single stone you should take several images of the same marker. For example:

1. One showing the whole cemetery.

2. Shoot an image that includes the closest stones and provides context.

3. Photograph the whole gravestone so that inscription and carving are visible.

4. Make sure to take at least one picture where the inscription fills the camera frame.

Unless you are extremely lucky, most of the stones you want to photograph will not be straight due to ground settling. In the case of leaning stones, tilting the camera should eliminate the slant."

It avails not, neither time or place—distance avails not;
I am with you, you men and women of a generation, or ever so
many generations hence;
I project myself—also I return—I am with you, and know how it is.

Just as you feel when you look on the river and sky, so I felt;
Just as any of you is one of a living crowd, I was one of a crowd;
Just as you are refresh'd by the gladness of the river and the bright flow,
I was refresh'd... ~ "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" by Walt Whitman

RE: Timothy Carl Person, Jr.
Hi Nancy,
I am very glad you are making positive progress. Recovering from something major and life threatening can be a real slow process. I will say a prayer for you and can see you gazing at those beautiful waterfalls in Yosemite!. We are truly blessed to have so much beauty so close to us! I wish you well and stay in touch. I will do the same.
Your friend,
Larry

Timothy Carl Person, Jr.
Hi Nancy,
I am doing some work in Modesto Citizens Cemetery. I came upon a grave for Timothy Carl Person, Jr. aged 3 1/2 months. This young man was born and died in 1974. I took photo's and posted to his memorial which was created be Ed Smith. While I was at his grave I thought of you and wondered if you were related? Anyway, I wanted to let you know of this grave and also that I photographed the headstone.

I hope all is well for you?
Warm regards,
Larry

Harry Maurice Stoner #34061825
I am trying to compile a printed list for the Restlawn Cemetery for the Altus Library and would like to ask if you know his parents names. I did find a Morris Rudolph & Margaret E. (Johnson) Stoner that looks like might be his parents but couldn't locate their burial place and etc. Any help would be appreciated. Their son Harry was a school classmate. Thanks

Hello, I've processed the links you submitted, thank you for sending them. I share your feelings about the use of our photos - I'm happy to share information but I too feel disappointed when the photos I add appear in someone's public tree on Ancestry as if they were their own.

RE: Gimbel photo
You're very welcome. If you read the caption on the photo you'll see it's a shared marker with Condrey & Bain. There are no Find A Grave memorials for them so I have requested they be created so I can upload those pictures as well. Thought I'd mention it to you since it's likely they are also your family members.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

When you wake up in the morning to 50 edits in red type which I am expected to accept, I do need a little help to prove they are correct. It can take hours to search the maiden name, the married name, their parents. On the other hand It is very easy for the person wanting the edits to send proof through the SAC. I am not demanding the actual documentations.

I do not subscribe to Ancestry because it is way too expensive.

William Gasser photo request.
Hi Nancy! Long time, no "see". Hope you are well and enjoying the holiday season.

I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. His grave is unmarked. I know I was in the right spot because the number plugs are clearly visible and he is next to Joseph Bena, whose lot number is 311-H.

I'm sorry this was not a more positive outcome. I am always disappointed when there isn't a marker.

Take care,

B.J.
