I started tracing my roots about 20 years ago and have found cousins that we never knew and strangers, and they have helped me by sharing information. I have many roots in White Co IL and my husband has many in Coles Co IL. In addition I have traced my maternal family in Denmark and Norway. FindaGrave has been a tremendous help and I enjoy finding pictures on their site.
