Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been excited about doing genealogy since my cousins wrote a book about part of my family.

I currently live in the foothills of South Carolina where some of both my immigrant as well as Cherokee ancestors lived before moving on to North Carolina, Tennessee and beyond. My father's family are from Missouri and Arkansas before his parent's moved them to California where I was born.

Being a military brat I was raised all over the place including Europe. Both my parent's are former Marines.

Not much else to tell except I love my 4 legged children and will be doing genealogy the rest of my life... I especially enjoy it when it involves history!

Elizabeth Henderson
Daughter of Richard and Henrietta Henley Henderson.
I have recently been asked how Elizabeth could have been born to such old parents.
When Elizabeth Henderson was born in 1745 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, her father, Richard, was 67 and her mother, Henrietta, was 63. She married Jacob Wiseman on January 21, 1773, in Currituck, North Carolina. They had eight children in 20 years. She died in 1805 at the age of 60.

Can you help me out so I can respond to them?

RE: Elizabeth Browne vs. Margaret Courtenay

I believe youíll find the birth date of Lucy Somerset is still in the bounds of Margaret Courteney's life.
The term and dates circa 1523 is the problem. Margaret Courtenay, Baroness Herbert's death is said to be before 1525.
Lucy Somerset's birth is said to be 1523/1524 so there seems to be a matter of some months.
I am afraid there will be a disagreement of who is her mother and that effects me to a degree I donít care to be connected to the woman Brown whose reputation is dubious and her relationship with Henry VIII and his wife is not something to be proud of.
If you are related to the Brown woman my apologies.
I am the descendent of Thomas Cecil - Dorothy Neville and I wish I could help you further
Sorry this reply is rather late, I don't usually look here.
Regards
Marc

RE: Photos for Ira Herman
My pleasure. Since his wife also had a marker, I went on and created a Find-a-Grave page for her. I'll transfer it to you.

Thank you very much for the wonderful picture of George and Nancy Gasperson Green. I am a gg granddaughter of Elizabeth Gasperson James of NC. I believe Elizabeth is an older sister to Nancy. Do you have any info on Nancy's parents? Thank you for any help you may offer. Ruth

RE: Clarissa Elvira Green Cloer
You are welcome. I know exactly what you are saying. I can't find my Great Grandmother in the cemetery that her death certificate says she is in. I'll just keep searching. Let me know if you need anymore help from this area.

Pearl Medford
Hi Cody,

You requested a photo of Pearl's tombstone at Greenhill Cemetery in Waynesville NC.

Could she have been named Ann? In 2001 the only Medford that was buried was Ann, on Oct. 26, 2001.

I will look for the tombstone if you think this is on the you want.

JOSEPH RICKMAN
Cpl Elbert S. Arrington, CSA
Hi Cody
I noticed that you referred to this man as your uncle. I assume that is either great uncle or great great uncle since he was born in 1841 and died in 1932, twelve years after his son, William F. died.

Elbert S. Arrington is my great grandfather, and William F. is my grandfather. That would, of course, make us cousins if E.S. is your uncle.

I have been driving by the cemetery location each Friday and it looks to me like the cemetery is no longer there. Where it was seems to be dug up and hauled off for fill dirt. I am going to go there and park to see if this is the case or that the digging is beside the graveyard. Of course I can't see as much as I drive by, but I can see where I used to park to walk up the hill to the cemetery and it just looks like the hill is no longer there. I will check further.

I am Joseph M. Rickman Sr. and my email address is: jrickman1934@charter.net

RE: Re: Millie Rector
The gravestone that I believe belongs to John Harvey Rector reads "Harvey Rector 1883 - 1935".

The info I found for him shows his birth year was "about 1882" but the death date was Dec 29, 1934. Considering it's only a couple of days from the end of the year I'm not surprised the year on the gravestone is 1935. Besides if his body was shipped back from West Virginia, whoever carved the gravestone may not have known the died in 1934.

Also, "Harvey Rector" is buried in between Millie and James Wiley. It's my assumption he is Millie's son - I don't know for sure.
