I have been interested in both genealogy and history, and specifically Civil War history, for some time now. Since February 2000, I have maintained a web site dedicated to the 42nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Since that time I have been documenting all known gravesites of these veterans. It is my hope, at least in a small way, that this work will bring honor to those veterans who have risked so much to preserve our freedoms. I am also a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), Ben Harrison Camp # 356 in Indianapolis, IN. Our organization honors all veterans, and specifically Union Civil War Veterans. The SUVCW actively participates in the replacement or cleaning/repair of Civil War veteran's gravestones. To learn more please visit our camp web site: Ben Harrison Camp-SUVCW|
Starting in 2006, I began learning about proper cemetery restoration techniques. Since then I have successfully cleaned and restored many gravestones.

I have now added a new memorial for
George and his wife who are buried
in New Carlisle Cemetery.

I found his grave and marker in the New Carlisle
|Ronald Hyer||Rev. George Streeter|
Per his death certificate, he is buried in the New Carlisle, Indiana Cemetery. I walked the cemetery
in Springville and was unable to locate the grave.
How did you get the information about him being buried there ? I am a member of the SUVCW (Sons of
Veterans of the Civil War) and want to make sure
that he has a proper Civil War Veteran grave

Didn't know if you were kin to him or not, but I just found a picture of him from 1905 in the newspaper which I posted to his memorial -- thought you might wanna take a look! :-)

I just realized you set up memorials of some of my extended family members. Thanks for your participation! I find some of your virtual cems interesting, too. We will have to compare notes/stories some time (if I ever make it back to work...).

Thank you for adding Mr. Jordan. I had thought my grandmother's husband was buried in Posey County, Indiana.
On another note, I noticed you have added H R Odeen. Is there any way the last name could be Odom?

Thank you for sending me her obit. I have added it to her memorial.

Hello, I am curious as to where to find copy of the Cemetery record cards for Anderson Cemetery. My Gr. Gr. and Gr. Grandparents are buried in the Wright plot. The Cemetery has not been accessible or cooperative with requests. Thanks for any aid you can offer.
