Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family tree for over 40 years. There are over 12,000 names in it, with the concentration on the names Bittenbender, Brensinger, Gery (or Geary), Rader (or Roeder) and Reichl. My point of reference centers around Berks and Lehigh counties in Pa., although it branches out, mostly in eastern Pa. I have one missing link...Jacob Bittenbender (born in 1815 and died in 1863) who was married to Sarah Wagner. If you ever find his tombstone or record of death PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I also printed a Bittenbender-Gery volume of my notes and it is available at the Schwenkfelder Library in E. Greenville, the Public Libraries in Allentown, Emmaus and Macungie, and the Kutztown University Heritage Center. I'm lways open to new or corrected info. Thanks.

RE: Wilson Wendling
I found his obit again and posted it to you by way of suggestions. Instead of retyping the info, can you highlight, copy and paste my information? Suzzette

Wilson Wendling/Wentling x 2
Thanks for your help. I did not keep a copy of Wilson's obituary. I will however, do another search to find it on newspapers.com and get back to you. Sorry for the inconvience. I will see if I can find both Wilsons in the newspaper.

RE: Question re. Obituaries
Yes, I see obituaries and death notices from that time period. Also there are papers printed with court records, including estate notices that are helpful. Some go back into the late 1700s. Also, many papers across the county will "pick-up" stories to print from different areas of the country.

Success depends on the location of printed material that the .com newspapers have downloaded for personal researching. One can do an index search for free and also most have a free trial period of about 10 to 15 days.

I did a search on ancestry.com for your Jacob Bittenbender, born 1815. Most of the records I found there have your name on them. Also there are possible records of interest for you that are in one or more private trees. I did find the following showing a death notice for your Jacob:
"On the 30th of November [year not stated], in Upper Milford, Jacob Bittenbender, aged 49 years."

Also, there are court records on newspapers.com with atleast three Jacob Bittenbender's mentioned in early records in Pennsylvania. I was not sure of the location at the time I was reading the papers to know if I had the correct Jacob. During the year/s that your Jacob died, there are no papers showing up. Many newspapers did not publish during the Civil War years.

Good luck on you searches.

RE: Memorial for Wilson Wendling (1852-1915)
Thank you for adding his obituary to his memorial.

I have a subscription to newspapers.com and read alot of newspaper articles to sort the obituaries out for surnames in my family tree. I try to share them with others and also try to link family members who are mentioned in the obituaries. Some memorial creators decline my offers.

I have also used a subscription to genealogybank.com for newspaper articles.

Hope this is helpful for you.

Thank you for the additions you have made to Find A Grave. I appreciate the work you do for the benefit of others.

RE: David G Treichler Memorial# 158886911
The mausoleum was locked when I was there. I took pictures thru the window in the door. My wife and I were on vacation and just passing by when we stopped to investigate the cemetery - we are from Jacksonville, Florida-- Billy

David G Treichler Memorial# 158886911
Kitty,
David Treichler I believe is entombed in the mausoleum built by his son, Harry S. Treichler, in the Zionsville Reformed Church Cemetery. I took pictures of the various crypts inside the mausoleum as best I could, and you can make out the names on them if closely examined. I also made mention of the monument for him in the cemetery where his parents are buried, with a link to it. Either he and his wife are MEMORIALIZED with a monument in Goshenhoppen UCC Cemetery where his parents are buried, or they are buried there and his brother went to a lot of trouble and expense to build the Mausoleum and engrave the Crypts with the names and dates in Zionsville. Either way there are two valid sites for the burial of David and his wife so I believe it appropriate to list them both with the link indicating the duplicity.

The mausoleum contains the crypts of Harry, His first wife, Cora, His brother David, and David's wife Maria. There are two additional crypts for which I was unable to get a clear picture of, and therefore do not know who occupies them.
