John Schultz
Dear Jessica,
I had such a hard time finding the grave of John Schultz! I figured a German gravestone would stand out in a Polish Cemetery, Not so! I ended up finding him on the same stone as the Farkus', his son-in-law and grandson. The name is in the original Polish! Jan Szulc I have a better pic of his name and his wife's name and both birth-death dates Jan:1880-1938 and Ksawera: 1885-1934. If you want, I can send if you like.

RE: DNA Match

I'm not aware of any family connections by that name. What geographical region are we talking about? My connection to Doug would be about 5.2 generations back, according to Gedmatch.

RE: DNA Match
I do match Doug Taylor but about 5 generations back. Also, a Kate Coleman. Any relation?

DNA Match

You are a recent match for me at Gedmatch via A866330 - Mandy on Chr. 12 for 27.2cM. How is she related to you? I see you've got some of your relations listed here. Are these the same for her as well?

Kind regards,

Gertrude Kirkland Kitchens #108382116
{You Wrote}
Hi there,

I am doing some research on the Kirkland family as I am currently helping an adoptee find her birth father's family. DNA points to the Kirkland family.

Anywho, the specific Kirklands that I am researching are the children of Seward Kirkland and Samantha Tanner.

A curious question, if you will.

While researching the family of Gertrude Kirkland Lairsey, I notice that other children are listed in her daughter Betty's obituary. That prompted me to seek out the father, who, based on Ancestry hints is Thomas Jefferson Lairsey. The children mentioned in Betty's obituary match that of the census I found.

But, here's where my question comes in, I noticed an Ancestry hint of a FindAGrave memorial for Thomas Jefferson Lairsey, who was married to a Gertrude Kirkland Kitchens. The children of Myrtle and Hazel are connected to this Thomas and Gertrude. And this Gertude has a different set of birth and death dates.

I'm a bit confused this Gertrude the same person with errors? Or two different Thomas Lairsey's and two different Gertrude Kirkland's?

Your name is on a lot of memorials connected to the Kirklands and I'm hoping you can possibly shed some light on this mix up, if that's what this is?

Here is the link to the Gertrude Kitchens memorial:

Thanks so much,

Regrettably, I'm not related to most Kirkland's nor do I have any inside info on them. As a fellow adoptee, I'm deeply sorrowful that I couldn't help. I pray your friend finds all her birth-family soon. Perhaps leaving this message here will jog someone's memory and be of assistance. Best wishes. Hope your day is blessed. ~:)

Sarah Fowler and Everett Fowler
Jessica, thanks for your message. I didn't realize I had duplicated Sarah Fowler's information. I have deleted it. Everett Fowler's sister, Maranzy Narcissus Fowler, was my great great grandmother. She had a child out of wedlock, Hattie Lorena Fowler, who was raised by Sarah and Albert. Hattie Lorena was my great grandmother on my father's side. She married Albert Godwin. They had a son named Roy Godwin. Roy's son, Harvey, was my father.
