Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in North Central Texas. My roots go back to Ireland, Germany, France and other countries I'm unsure of. They arrived in Texas via Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee with names like Brown, Chastain, Brooks, Brooke, Moore and Timmons.

Woe unto thee who posteth memorials to those who still liveth. Thou maketh it plain that thou art after numbers. This causeth much confusion besides being against Find A Grave policy.

Feel free to use my pictures, etc. on other websites, but please, have the courtesy and scruples to give me credit for them.

PLEASE do not post pictures of death certificates or newspaper clippings of obituaries on any of my memorials. Other pictures are welcome as long as they pertain to the subject person and are NOT PICTURES OF DOCUMENTS. If you wish to add obituary information, send it to me through "Suggest a Correction".

D. L. Sloan
I believe the above person buried in the Medlan Chapel Cemetery in Young County, Texas to be the brother of my dad. He had a brother who died in infancy, who was named Dewey, according to my grandmother's Bible. The Find A Grave page shows the parents to be Plez and Mary Ellen Hargrave Sloan, who were my grandparents. Mary Ellen's parents are buried in this cemetery. Can you help me with information on how you arrived at the fact that this grave is D. L. Sloan. Thank you and I appreciate your help. Bill Sloan

she was married to George W. Alexander !!! Not George Alexander, Jr. I know because Jr was my brother-in-law. He was just George W. Alexander. I went to his funeral. Could you please change this. George Jr. was Andre's son. He was married to my sister, Barbara Hinkle Alexander.

I have what appears to be original pictures of William & Mary. If not they are old copies. The one of Mary looks exactly like the one you posted. William's is slightly different. If you would like to have the pictures, I'll send them to you. Let me know at email; dholder1945@gmail.com

RE: Memorial #: 133673540
Thanks. The edit should clear some misinformation for other visitors. My wife and I are to visit Palo Pinto, Texas this Summer, in an effort to find more info on F.G.'s father -and mother. They divorced when he was 15 and left little in terms of a "trail."

Thanks again.

F.G. Boggus is my grandfather. His name was Not Franklin Garfield --it was simply F.G. The nickname "Framk" came into play when he went to work for Cabot Carbon Co. and the company would not allow initials only names. His Social Security card (and other documents) reflect only "F.G." Franklin Garfield Boggus was F.G.'s Father.

RE: William Crawford Brooks
I had just noticed that your grand father's siblings spelled their names with an "e" rather than an "a". However I can understand, that if it
is Brooks on the head stone, why you would want to keep it that way.

I appreciate your quick response. Thank you very much and God Bless!

ACCESS TO FINIS CEMETERY
Could you tell me how to get access to the Finis Cemetery. I'd like to search for the grave of my great, great granddad, Captain John C. Brown. I have a record that he died in Finis, TX in 1887 but I think it could be 1897. Maybe he's buried there.
