I am a retired businessman who enjoys genealogy as a hobby. I find that genealogy and "Find a grave" go hand in hand and its easy to do both at the same time and both are very rewarding.In adding Memorials for those in my family I have added memorials for many non-relatives in hope that it will help others as others have helped me. If I've submitted a relative of yours and you would like it transferred to you, just ask. I live in the Omaha metro area and thats where most of my photos were taken.Researching Bender, Ausdemore,Hittner, German,Ternus, Bockholt, Hatzenbuehler, Kramer, Wickelman and many others. Most of My family came from Germany in the Mid 1800s and settled in the North Eastern Nebraska German farming comunities and spread from there.In my research if I run across a grave of someone in the Military that is Killed in Action they get special attention and i try to find out as much as i can about them and put it on the Memorial. We owe it to these Heros and they should not be forgotten.I authorize anyone to use my photos for any reason."Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." ~~~Princess Diana|

|ASA||RE: Dean A. Woods|
Howdy again, another tidbit of info. In 1940 Dean was listed as working in a printing house. Thelma's brother Joseph is listed as a press man in 1940 and a printer in his obit. Dean and Thelma probably met thru that brother. And they lived about a block away from each other Kevin.

Howdy Loren, long note to let ya know what I found. Dean's father remarried a younger gal and ended up in Kansas with a bunch of other kids, Dean's half siblings. Found him and edited him to the memorial for Dean in Seward. Dean's wife never remarried. Thelma was the daughter of Joseph and Della (Brown) Kohiro, who went to Council Bluffs to marry like Dean and Thelma did since against law in Nebraska for different races to wed. Thelma's mother was white. Thelma's father ran restaurants in Lincoln for years. Interesting tidbit for me is that years ago a gal I knew wanted to go look at a property way out south of Lincoln. She said an oriental family had lived there and last survivor who she knew, presumably Thelma, had gotten to old to stay out there and just moved. Property sat empty and became a magnet for young kids to hang out. It was a huge older brick house that could have been called a mansion when in good shape. But, no upkeep and vandalism had taken it's toll. Eventually place was sold with the land, torn down and developed. I always looked for that place when I drove out that way, Thelma's father's obit had address. Anyway, found obits, and whole family is out in Lincoln Memorial. I got some of the info and made memorials and also submitted edit for Thelma to be connected to Dean. Haven't found a picture of Dean yet, but Historical society has portraits of him and Thelma. If I can get down there, I can snap a few of them. Will try to get Dean's obit also. Thanks. Kevin.

Check out Steve's memorial now, I finally got it. Not the best picture, but right side up!
|Cheryl Mueller||RE: Steve Mallette|
Thanks Loren! Last case scenario, you can do the phone thing. I could send the photo to you via email.....I'll try that :)
It's lovely on my Ipad, when I transfer to Find A Grave, it turns.......I am giving up until I hear from you :)
|Cheryl Mueller||OH! Re: Steve|
Guess it's okay...also a tiny hand-written stone beside it. I cannot read it all, but was he first buried over seas?
|Cheryl Mueller||Steve Mellette|
Loren, I added his headstone picture and it's turned sideways...I don't know what to do as this is only the 2nd photo I've added! Going to try again. C

Clay is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Greshman, Oregon, along side his wife.

System has been down for at least 2 months. I usually just decide to go hunting and then first thing go to the office. Keep trying. I will see what I can do.
|M Belcher||RE: Cora Fleener|
That is a good question. I was not thinking about her being buried under her maiden name. I have not looked at my Medlock family in Nebraska for a while.
I have been thinking about taking a couple day road trip to Haigler, Benkelman and Wauneta after labor day. Stratton is not that far out of the way.
How did you determine that Cora was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery?
Do you know if there is a grave marker?
