LONG Richard H #65277378
In reading the Detroit Free Press, for Tuesday, Apr 4, 1876, pg. 1, I came across this death notice. I believe the individual it refers to is the same individual for the memorial above that you created. Please consider adding this biographical information.

Death of R. H. Long. - R. H. Long, Superintendent of the Michigan Stove Works, died at his residence at 9 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Long had been sick but a few days and his death was very unexpected. He was highly respected and esteemed, and his death will be mourned by many friends as a personal bereavement. The Works were closed down at noon and will remained closed until after the funeral.

According to an article, "When Stoves were the Hot New Thing", by Bill Loomis in the Detroit News, Jan. 24, 2015, the Michigan Stove Works was established by Jeremiah Dwyer in 1861 at the corner of Mt. Elliot and Wight Roads. The Stove Works was later expanded in a new facility on E. Jefferson, Detroit in 1866. In the 29th century, Detroit was known as the "Stove Capital of the World" because more than 10% of the world's stoves at the time were produced in Detroit.

Howard W. Thayer #11709469
Hello David: Your picture on Howard's memorial is sideways. I now manage his memorial and I would appreciate it if I could add a better picture of my own. I can only do that if you remove your picture. Thank you...

Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit MI
Thank you for posting the info and bio for Charlotte S. Schmidt and Albert Schmidt. We have been trying to find death record for Charlotte. Would you happen to know where the Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit, MI records are maintained and how to access them? The web-site for the cemetery is not active, nor is their phone number.
Thank you,

We are fulfilling your photo request. It is above ground burial. We will go back in the spring and look for any individual markings. We did not see any today.

Dear David,

Your post brought tears to my eyes. I was just 14 when we buried my father and I had never seen his headstone. I no idea where to look for him in that enormous cemetary. I am so grateful.

Kind wishes, Holly Smith

Eva Lyon #59768228
I found an other obituary for Ms. Lyon in the Palatka News and Advertiser (Palatka, FL) of 12/8/1916. It doesn't contain any additional information, but I thought you might like to see it anyway. It appears she was very well loved by the community and her church family.
