|Dexter McCarter||Cantrell Graveyard|
I live about 5 miles from Buck Creek Baptist Church, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. I was at Buck Creek Church today looking at some stones on the Cantrells. Regarding the information that you have on the 'Cantrell Graveyard', not Buck Creek, Can you please share with me - where exactly is the Cantrell grave yard - I figure it's probably where the original church stood - but I don't know where that is - and can you please tell me where you obtained the names of the Cantrells that you have on Findagrave that are interred in the 'Cantrell Graveyard'. Thanks in advance fir your help. I am descended from Enoch Cantrell and am the wife of Dexter McCarter who owns this account.

Yes, that is exactly what is happening, a request to put Thornton in as his second name. I have never seen, in any documents, his name listed as Isaac Thornton Cantrell.
Unfortunately, I can't remember who or how many have requested the "Thornton" name added. I'm not changing it again without proof.

Hi Vonnie, Have you had any luck in getting Find A Grave to rescind their decision to disallow all the memorials that you so lovingly created ? Thanks again for all your dedication to our history !
Hi, Vonnie! I got your message, and I'm not sure where the middle name came from on John Campbell's memorial. Like you, I have no documentation of a middle name for John. I'm not sure if it was already on the memorial when it was transferred to me, or if an edit came through that I missed and it automatically got added. Either way, I have removed it. Thanks so much for pointing that out!

Thank you for managing this Patriot's memorial. Are you descended from him? I am supposedly descended through his son Michael. However, I have never seen any documentation that he had a son named Michael. I'm reaching out to you in hopes that you have information regarding this.

Thanks for the corrected name. Change has been made.

Thank you for your inquiry. I am not related to this lady but would be happy to receive any material or information you have regarding her or her husband. The originator of this memorial was a member of my Cemetery Committee but sadly passed away in December 2011. You may contact me directly via my e-mail address: LSvach@Gmail.com to discuss this matter. I am very agreeable to add more information to her memorial or receive documents for storage with the Bosque County Historical Commission.

Thank you for your kind comments. Also, the tips you mention are on this website if you would like to share. Several historical societies and others posted this link on their contributor pages for other volunteers to use.
Again, 'thank you'.

Hi, Vonnie! I hope you don't mind me contacting you again. You've provided so much information on my ancestors through your work on Find A Grave, I was hoping you might help me with a question I have on William Lusk. I found US Revolutionary War Payroll records from Sept 1777 and a muster roll that lists a William Lusk - for the 7th Penn Regiment, 2nd Div, in Capt Alexander Parker's command. I know he died in 1780 on Kings Mtn, but he was originally from Pennsylvania. I'm not sure how to validate this to determine whether this might be the correct William. Any suggestions?
