Bio and Links
Bio Photo Pleased to be here. My hope is that I have helped someone along their way in discovering some small fact in their quest of finding family connections by placing these memorials on this great site.

*I found out the hard way that virtually all of the bio info one places on their precious memorials they created, makes its way directly to world connect rootsweb, family search and ancestrydotcom, and many other personal blogs and sites with no credit of original ownership in place. This is only important if that issue matters to you.

Thanks for letting me know. Often when I see something like this it's a computer "oops" and that's why I let you know. Good luck with your memorials.

RE: Polly Methvin
Thank you so much for finding this, what a fun adventure! Yes, we are related. Polly would have been my 5th great aunt. Polly's sister Anna was married to my 4x great grandfather, Hiram Lamb, in Alabama where most of my family still remains today.

RE: Unity Cemetery
That's great news. Now are you going to put the pictures on here? Linda Cooper is publishing a book on the Vest Cemetery and almost finished with it. It's really good & informative.

We may be distant cousins

I saw your note on Stephen Hamlin-1’s memorial.

I have been researching the Hamlin family ancestry for over 40 years, and compiled a database of over 40,000 descendants of Stephen Hamlyn – 1, who came to America from England in 1634, and settled in Surry County, Virginia. If you descend from Stephen 1, you belong in the database too, and I am eager to share (at no cost of course) my discoveries with you. Here’s what I propose to send you:
- A personal Ancestor Report, generation by generation, showing birth, spouse, marriage, death, and burial information for all your Hamlin ancestors (from you to Stephen-1)
- A Kinship Report (identifies your kinship to all your Hamlin ancestors)
- A Relationship Chart (shows how you and I are related)
- A Descendant Report, generation by generation, showing birth, spouse, marriage, death, and burial information for all Stephen-1 descendants

All I need to create these reports for you is your ancestral path to Stephen-1 which I will then add to my database. All of my information is in a system called Family Tree Marker from which I can very easily create a wide range of reports, like the four above. Thumbnail photos are included on the reports when available. The reports are suitable for permanent binding.

If you have a computer and email, simply email me your information at my address below.

Hoping to hear back from you.

Powell Cemetery, MO
Hello, we spoke a few years ago about the Powells buried in Powell Cemetery, Dallas County, MO. They are relatives of mine. Anyway, I am going to be in the area in June and I was wondering if you know if Powell Cemetery is still accessible? I would love to visit the cemetery. I remember you doing a lot of work to the cemetery, and I would appreciate and info you may have.
Thank you,
Britany Johnson

RE: Freemans in t old City Cemetery
I have the book but too late tonight to look up from 6 pages and find these. I don't think there is mention of a lost grave so makes one think there were stones there at one time.

For some reason when I was doing the survey I remembered a Freeman stone but later I did not find any. I have no explanation for that deviation because I was unable to find a photo and thus explain that, but maybe I was just wrong. Anyway the place I was looking for that Freeman stone was in the northwest quadrant of the cemetery in the area near the street. I rarely ever miss photographing a stone.

Their dates match with the ones you mentioned. But I found no stone. Maybe there never was one and you should provide one. I cannot tell you where to add the stones even though I have been all thru the cemetery, because there are lots of broken monuments and large unmarked areas of the cemetery
