I love spending an afternoon in a cemetery. The older and more unusual the graves, the better! I have photos or documentation for most of the memorials I have posted. My data are actual readings; I do not upload bulk data. Please feel free to inquire directly if I didn't upload a photo.

Copyright is reserved on all my photos. Written permission is required in advance, including a link to any family tree on any genealogical website.

Memorial transfers are available to immediate family members (parents, sibling, children, grands) upon polite request per F.A.G. policy. Please remember that other family members also have rights and strong feelings about certain memorials.

The actual inscription or the supporting cemetery/death record is the "fact" I use for the purposes of this site. The value of Find-A-Grave is the wonderful and unparalleled access to grave and cemetery records. It is not a genealogical database, a publication forum, or a chance to acquire ownership. The stones, records, and inscriptions may be erroneous. But, they are the historical record of the event as it exists and that is the value. I will always correct any mistakes I have made in reading them.

My goal is to provide documentation of as many memorials as possible. I will link family members and update existing memorials with biographical information as time permits. All requests must include legitimate documentation to be considered. Information added to memorials will be credited with your contributor#. Requests will be declined if no source data is offered. Many unintentional genealogical errors are introduced based on great enthusiasm and the best of intentions. Such errors are difficult and time consuming to correct.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to make this site so great. Let's go pay it forward! See you at the cemetery!

Campbell Cemetery Photos

I noticed you took several photos of stones in Campbell Cemetery in Fayette County Indiana. In one wide shot you can see the graveston of Elizabeth Campbell on the left side. Did you get any close photos of this stone or could you perhaps crop another photo to feature this stone? She was my 5th great grandmother and the stone is now worn beyond reading. So I would love to see a better image where it is readable.

Otto and Jessie Haschart
Jane - My belated thanks for taking the gravestone photo for Otto Haschart and also posting it to my Great Aunt Jessie's Memorial as well. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so and your appreciation to detail : )

RE: Cortelyou graves
Morning Jane,
Thank you for thinking of me! After looking, turns out none of my Cortelyou ancestors ended up in Ohio, so while this group is certainly related, I'm not sure who the most recent common ancestor is. Nonetheless, I appreciate the information and will stow it away in case the connection is someday made!

RE: Laurel Memorial Gardens In Symmes Township
Hello Jane-I found out that you have to submit the photo to the find a grave admin. Request that the photo be the default photo on all the memorial pages for that cemetery. I just send it by email. The listing is in the find a grave information.

Laurel Memorial Gardens In Symmes Township
I noticed that you took the photo on the face page for that cemetery. Is it possible to have that photo come up on the memorial pages that are for that Cemetery? If so, How? Thank you for being part of find a grave site. I am not geographically close to that location, and like the photo you have placed on the face page for that Cemetery.

Hendrick Cortelyou (18342337)
May I have your permission to use your photo of Hendrick's gravestone (showing the entire monument) on, the genealogy Wiki? I believe it would be a great addition to his page and I would, of course, give you attribution for it.

Thank you!

Thank you for your help in taking photos of some of my distant relatives headstones there in Ohio. I am far away in Washington State and truly appreciate your help. :-)
