I authorize anyone to use my Find a Grave images in Wikipedia or their own family research, under the creative commons attribution license cc-by-2.5, where the attribution is 'R.E.H.'."

Going forward, unless there is a compelling reason, I will only transfer listings of people someone knew closely, i.e. parent, child or close friend. I'm sorry, but someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people. I prefer you add one of my listings under your umbrella using the virtual cemetery feature at Find A Grave. If you have additional information, I will happily add it and list you as the contributor.

Also, please do not ask me add an obituary to a person's memorial. See Find A Grave policy below:

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
It is best to not copy obituary notices from newspapers to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices from memorial records.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.

Wife of Daniel Martlings (1737-1788)
Rich --

There is another entry for his wife, Maritie Van Wurt/von Waert -- in the same cemetery. It gives her birth date.

Memorial #41037615

Blessings!

Rich --

You may not be interested and thats fine.

If you want access to my Ackerman/Christenson private ancestry tree (Martlings marry into Ackerman, as I said) email me at

LibralLady@aol.com

and I will give you access to my private tree.

I spent the day trying to add/correct/edit my Martling/Martlings/Martelinghs info and finally shut it down with more papers on my desk than when I starated. Per usual. :)

If you have no interest, thats OK, too.

Blessings!

David Martling's Wife
Nevermind . . .

NOW it appears that Christina Martling, wife of
David, son of Abraham Martling and Jennet Ackerman, was the daughter of Capt. Daniel Martling and Marie Van Wart

Re David Martling
RE: David Martling (??-1827)
Hello, Again!

I think I've GOT it! :)

You may not even be interested. But I am 'cuz my childrens' father's mother's family is Ackerman and they marry into Martling/s.

After abt an hour of searching -- this is what I found:

Abraham Martling (1693-1761) marries Rachel Devoe (1690-1760). They have a bunch of kids, including Abraham Martling (1719-1760) and Petrus Martling (1734-1760).

Petrus marries Catrina Storm and they have (6) kids; one named Christina (1759-1831) and one named Daniel (1763-????)

Daniel marries Christina OAKLEY (1766-????).

Christina MARTLING, Daniel's sister, marries David Martling (1754-1827) SON of Abraham Martling (Petrus' brother.

So . . . that makes Christina Martling, wife of David Martling . . . well, if you can figure that out, yur a better Genie-Nerd than me. :)

Blessings!

RE: John J. Doran, Sr
I don't think so. He must have erected the tombstone when his wife died, put his own name on it in anticipation of being buried there also, note there is no death date on stone. He then remarried to Diana who succeeded him in death, and was buried in Nazareth where she and her family are also buried.

David Martling (??-1827)
Find A Grave data shows him to be son of Abraham Martlings and Jennet Ackerman.

David's Wife is listed as Christina Martling (1759-1827). That would be her married name.

What is her MAIDEN NAME?? You show her parents as Danl. Martlings (??-1788) and Maria Van Wart (??-1791).

If Christina is wife of David Martling, son of Abraham Martlings and Jennet Ackerman -- her maiden last name cannot be Martling.

This cannot be . . .
