Bio and Links
Bio Photo Daughter of Cecil Wray Rogers and Evelyn Alice Kurtz Rogers.I was born in Pinckneyville IL in 1964,My Father now retired Captain with The United States Marine Corps was stationed in Okinawa, Japan upon my arrival only received a telegram "It's a Girl" for a few days he believed he had a daughter named Ginger. Much to his surprise my mother changed my name. I have lived at the Marine Corps Base, Camp LeJune, NC, back to Pinckneyville (a small southern town in IL) and then moved to Orlando, FL in 1971. When I married my husband Ray we moved to Apopka, FL and in 1989 I was blessed with the birth of my son Raymond (III). I truly enjoy family history. There are books and articles for my dad's side which have been extremely helpful, and I have been researching my mothers side for many years now and came across this site in 2010. It has been very helpful to me and if I can help anyone else out I will. I create the memorials to show respect to those who have gone before us and as a way to help maintain "Family History". I feel that memorials should be maintained by family, they will be able to honor them better than I, and I wish others would do the same in return. Even though I try my best to create the memorial as accurate as I can, I to make mistakes. Please send corrections and I will do my best to correct them as soon as possible.

At work I do a lot of archiving old photos. Some of my customers bring me hundreds of family photos dating back in the 1800's. I find it so fascinating. I tell them about this site so they may find some of their family members information and leave a note or just some "virtual"flowers.

today October 17, 2012 I received a email from an angry "Lady" who threatened me for creating a memorial for her family member. If I create one and you would like me to remove it, threats are not needed. I feel I am very respectful of the departed and I KNOW many have appreciated the time we volunteers take to create and post memorials. I appreciate the information I have found about my families on Find A Grave, and I THANK EACH and everyone who volunteers!

Thank you. Sometimes when you go to add a link when another link to another relative is already present, it rejects the new edit without removing the other link. I am not sure why, and it doesn't happen all the time. A mystery to be solved!

Hi Sharon, I called the office and they asked when I would be visiting. I told them I didn't think I would since I lived in Kansas. They asked that you call the number and set an appt to come to take the photo. They will drive you to the site and let you take the photo. I would appreciate your help with this, if you are still willing to do so. I appreciate your work on find-a-grave. This is an invaluable tool for those of us that do research.

Thanks, Sharon - yes, I screwed up! He was my great uncle /brother of my grandmother. All in MI, only 'Letekers" in US or anywhere. All are interred in Detroit, Wayne Cty, MI, at Mt Elliott. I have linked all of the rest of the family. Been hoping for awhile that someone would add him and Helen to Find A Grave - thank you! Staff was the son of Henry AJ and Sarah Stafford Leteker - the ONLY name in US... no doubt, phonetically spelled. Sarah Stafford Leteker's Find A Grave #142808177 - you can see the dates. Thanks again!

RE: Jean Allvord
I added the plot to Jean Allvord's Memorial# 174844616. The cemetery office told me that her husband Walter is buried in the same plot, which I was very happy to find out:

Section A, lot 18, space 1

I made Memorial# 180428885 for Walter and requested a photo, so you can fulfill them both!
