Bio and Links
Bio Photo Part of the Illinois/Nebraska clan that started in York County Pennsylvania (1740's) as Cremer/Cramer, later Somerset County, moved on to Ohio then Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska and finally to all points on the compass. I am one of the many great grandsons of Jeremiah M. Cremer. I'm retired. How else would anyone have time for all of this?

If you find I've made an error, as I'm sure that I have, please let me know so that a correction can be made. I will gladly transfer any Memorial that isn't family or possibly a really close friend. If the latter, just plead your case and if you're 'family' to them (or a really close friend), you'll most likely win.

If you wish to use my photographs for non commercial purposes, please do. A simple citation regarding the source would be appreciated. I straighten, crop and play with the contrast & color of my photographs when needed to make them presentable. Photos taken of standing markers at 45-60 degree 'overhead' vantages make me groan a little, since the inscriptions are often difficult to read, please bend the knees a little?

RE: Ile Royale
Michael,
Thank you for your message. Yes, one letter in a name can make a big difference! Since the now existing cemetery listing is a merger of what I had AND what you had it is now OUR Cemetery and not mine! Notice there are cemetery photos from both of us. So glad to share it with you. Go ahead and add other memorials. And yes send the photo if you find it. I did enlarge both the photo you posted and the one I posted and am convinced the spelling is Courtalon. The letters are evenly spaced. I can see how you got your spelling of the name due to the stains, but if you add in the i.e. instead of t the even spacing of letters is lost. I am sending my photo to your email address. Thanks again, Michael and continue to enjoy all you do for Find A Grave - one of my favourite websites!

RE: Ile Royale
Michael,
It has taken a month of back and forth, but now the two (my postings of the cemetery and two graves on 5 December 2016 and the one you later posted on 23 Mar 2017) have been merged. I was not able to change the name of the cemetery as you requested back in March so I contacted Find A Grave and they merged the two, making the correction. Now I am asking that you please delete Memorial # 177665474 as it is a duplicate of the one I had posted earlier, and also if you enlarge the closeup, you will see that your spelling of the surname does not match that of the gravestone. Thanks, Michael.

Blarnae Boswell #106481041
Hey Michael, I thought I’d take advantage of your request to inform you of any error you might have made. :) I noticed on memorial No. 106481041, that you have Blarnae LaVleet Boswell’s maiden name listed as Crewdson rather than Crawford (her mother’s maiden name was Crewdson). Her son, Dr. Thomas Crawford Boswell, was my father-in-law. His middle name was his mothers maiden name; and is also one of my sons middle name. ~ Thanks for your work and updates!

Matthew Gitter #108824451
Hi, Michael,
I was in the cemetery where Matthew is buried and was checking for memorials and/or pictures that needed to be done. I saw that you had the misfortune of trying to take photos on a really sunny day, next to a big row of hedge. lol. Been there, done that.
I was able to get a photo of Michael's headstone without the shadow, so I posted it.

If it is important for you to have your own photos there, I understand. Just let me know and I will delete mine.

Have a great evening! Barbara

RE: Angel Butke?
Butke is the most consistent and likely the correct maiden name.
