I have lived in south-central Indiana all of my life and I have been living in Bloomington since the Fall of 1982.|
In 2004, I started wandering cemeteries locating veterans who died while in service to our country. I have quite an extensive collection of photographs and bios. In 2013 I started extensively photographing the gravestones at Clear Creek Cemetery in Monroe County, Indiana.
I find that cemeteries are fascinating, peaceful and contain a wealth of history if people will only take the time to look and wander.
My hobbies include reading, photography, spending time with family & friends, watching Indianapolis Colts football & IU men's basketball, and wandering through cemeteries.
I pride myself as a photo volunteer of taking the best photo(s) that I can for the requester. I have been enjoying photography since I bought my first 35mm film camera in 1978. I have been shooting all digital for several years now.
If I have added a family member of yours and you would like for me to transfer the memorial to you, let me know and I will gladly do that.

|Lanette Estill Cooper||Arizona Young Cox|
I just sent you an edit for Arizona Cox regarding her birthplace. I know her death certificate listed her birthplace as Indiana, but she was actually born in Pulaski County, Kentucky. She and her parents, Talbert and Lucinda Young, are all listed in the 1880 census as living there, not Indiana.
Thanks for all you do for findagrave!!
|Jennifer Festa||Terrific job|
I live near Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington and walk it regularly. Your bio for Sgt John Heitger is terrific. Thank you for taking the time to research the memorials. I saw his grave yesterday and went online to see what I could find out. You had already done the research for me.
Thanks again, Jennifer

Thank you very much Jim. Looks like I have quite a lot of family buried in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Just discovered the link yesterday. So wonderful to add the headstone photos.

|Lynn||Clarice Mabel (nee Rupert) Vint Underwood|
I received your suggestion to switch the order of the first and middle names for Clarice "Mabel" (nee Rupert) Vint Underwood. Despite the fact that most public documents and records list her name as Mabel Clarice, and all of us in the family knew her as Mabel, her actual maiden name was Clarice Mabel Rupert.
My cousin, Tom Vint, and I have done a great deal of research together over the years on our family tree. Mabel was married to one of our cousins, Roy "Carson" Vint. When we were updating and confirming information for relatives all the way to the present time, Tom contacted one of Mabel and Carson's daughters, Martha (nee Vint) Page.
After Tom spoke to her, Martha sent us two obituaries for her mother that both gave her name as Mabel Clarice Underwood. However, Martha added a handwritten note on the page next to the obits that specifically stated:
"Mom's real 1st name was Clarice Mabel, but she went by Mabel."
I can email you a copy of Martha's entire signed letter with the notation written between the obits if you would be interested in seeing it for yourself. Feel free to let me know if you think it would be helpful to have a copy for your files.
Your suggested change made me realize that I need to add a note to Mabel's bio in order to clarify the reason why the name on the memorial reads as it does. I thank you for bringing that to my attention.
I respect your work so much that I didn't want to decline your suggestion without a detailed explanation. Or would you rather remove the suggested change instead? I won't do anything in regard to the edit for a few days, in case that would be your preference.
Please don't ever hesitate to let me know if you have additional information for any of my memorials, or if you come across something else that might be incorrect. I care deeply about making them all as complete and accurate as possible.
Your great photographs and the obits you have added to the memorials for many of our Monroe County relatives have been tremendously helpful. You have no idea how much Tom and I--not to mention the entire Vint family--appreciate all your wonderful contributions to Find A Grave.

|Juanita Arnold||Sarah Catherine Voyles|
Sarah Catherine Young Voyles is Abraham Voyles wife. She was married to John Bennington first. I believe that she is buried with his family. She had two children by him and two by Abraham (Able) Voyles she had Earl and Retta Voyles. Retta's first name is actually Saretha, went by Retta. Retta married a Bush and then Roy Jackson Pope. She was married Orville Kenneth Bush who also went by John.

Burial at Clear Creek
Monroe County Indiana Death Records 1921-1940. Do you have that book? There may not be a stone for him. My information says says that is where Abraham Voyles is buried. It also has Sarah Catherine Voyles, but she is in a different cemetery.
Thank you so much for sending the links to her parents. I do appreciate it. Hope you are doing well and it has been awhile since we have "spoken"
My very best to you and your family.

Thank you so much for the transfers! It's difficult to find people willing to share their work, but it makes us appreciate contributors like you who share so willingly. THANK YOU! I know you put a lot of time and effort into your work. It is a selfless act, but one that is sincerely appreciated. Take care.
