Lewis and I have been married 47 years and have three wonderful children and six amazing grandchildren. I retired in 2015, after 30 years as the executive assistant at the local hospital.|
When my mother-in-law died in 2003, her three children and spouses sorted through the things she treasured. Every time we came to an old picture, the others would place it in a box and say, "Give that one to Cathy. She'll make us a book." And I did! It was a labor of love, and I'm now hooked on genealogy.
When I Googled my maternal grandmother and found a picture of her headstone at Beaver Baptist Church Cemetery, I became addicted to Find A Grave. I feel like I'm preserving history, especially when I can add obituaries, pictures and family links.

Many thanks for your grave photos. Best wishes
|Gennaphyr||RE: Asceal and Margaret Guffin Brookover|
Thank you so much for finding and photographing their grave sites!The photos are terrific!
Just out of curiosity have you done DNA testing? Scott and my daughters have tested with all 3 sites and there is only one other descendant of Jacob Brookover he matches with so that tells me not many Brookover's have tested. I hope that changes as more and more are tested.
I was surprised to see someone had posted Frank Brookover's obituary on his memorial, I only just noticed it today and it didn't mention his wife and children which surprised me.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Will be happy to delete, but would rather wait until the other is moved into the cemetery.

|Daniel Maxwell||Moses Moore|
Thank you for the photo of Moses Moore's grave in Battle Grove Cemetery - I was convinced it didnt exist anymore, but you thankfully proved me wrong. I didnt notice you added it until now.
I wonder if you saw any other Moore graves nearby - I dont have a grave for Moses's wife Grizzella or the son Washington (though hes probably in Missouri)
|Linda Gravette Gentry||Grave Hayes photo request|
I noticed your photo request and the comment that was left. Cemetery state she was buried there 11/23/1984. It appears the date was never engraved on the marker.
Are you related? I have a bunch of old newspapers and found that she was killed in a car accident but it says she was 84 years old but on her grave marker it adds up to 86? Do you know if this is how she died? I will add to her memorial if it is her and its ok? Thanks Tina

Could you please link my uncle Eugene Smith with his parents. 156019055 is his father and 54038010 is his mother. Thank you so much. I went to add uncle Gene and you had already put him on here but didn't have him linked to parents or siblings. Thank you once again for your help.
|George Seitz||Peter Puryear Wyles|
Having an interest in Randolph-Macon College and the Civil War, I came upon some small information regarding Peter Puryear Wyles. I posted it on your entry of him and noticed that there may be a connection, so thought you might have interest too. He attended R-MC from 1865 to 1868.
|Erin Woodside||Joseph Miller|
Thank you for taking the pictures of Joseph Miller and his family's graves at Old Republican Cemetery. Are you a descendant? I am his ggggrandaughter through his first wife Priscilla Maynard.
