I have been working on my own family tree since about the Fall of 1999. I started this project by doing transcripts of my own family's cemeteries and taking photos of the stones. I am sure this is how most folks get started doing this kind of thing.|
On my father's side, I am researching these names; Campbell, Clouse, Donalson, Edwards, Elam, Engle, Faris/Farris, Gillum/Gilliam, Harris, Hodge/Hodges, Hutton, Keck, Owsley and Riddle at this time. These surnames are from Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas, with ties to England, Germany and Scotland.
On my mother's side, I am researching these names; Cantley, Clay, Gibbs, Rorrer/Rohrer and Turner at this time. These surnames are from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, with ties to Switzerland, Germany and England.
You have my permission to use any photos posted here as long as it used for research and not for profit.

Ed, thanks for the response. I asked because of a letter in the Engle Book, wherein it was believed one of the tombstones in the Peter Engle graveyard bore the name of George Engle. I am currently trying to pinpoint the location of the Peter Engle graveyard.

Hi Ed, Do you know for sure that George Engle was buried tin the Church cemetery or is that your best guess?
ED, DO YOU BY ANY CHANCE LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH TO GET THIS INSCRIPTION AND POST IT TO THIS MEMORIAL. I HAVE ALSO ASK THE PERSON WHO POSTED THE PIC

Do you have proof he was here in 1845 when Texas was a Repbulic?
Also, do you have a picture of the grave where his daughter , Nancy was buried? and a date?

Hi, I am an Find A Grave volunteer who recently moved near White Rock Lake. I usually take photos. I see you have taken quite a few photos in Cox Cemetery, but there are still a lot more to go. Is there an organized group at Cox Cemetery.... or is there any way to know which sections have been photographed and which have not? I'd like to help if help is needed. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Sherry

I am quite sure I have thanked you before when I was working on my direct line, but here I am again looking at more connections!

I sent some information the other day to connect Joyce with her parents and siblings. On Sep 30 the New London, TX School Disaster Museum paid tribute to Joyce as that would have been her birthday. She, along with almost 300 other children and adults were killed in that horrible explosion March 18, 1937. This year they are posting pictures of markers as those who perished would be celebrating a birthday. I do not know if you are aware of this, but thought you might be interested.
The Payne's were good friends of my family, their son was only 3 months old when she died. They later had a daughter, the whole family is buried in the Reilly Springs Cemetery in Hopkins Co. TX.
