Hi, thanks for sending all the research on the Eatmans; clearly you've unraveled some of their knots...:) I think you should manage their memorials...I came across them in my project of photographing Woodlawn Cemetery (formerly Markham and Pine Hill). I have no connection to them, nor any knowlege of them other than trying to connect them to each other.
If ok with you, I'd like to transfer them to you for maintenance. There are others of the Eatman children buried at Woodlawn...possibly I will come across them in the section I'm currently photographing; assuming that they have headstones. (Many in this cemetery don't, either they never had a stone, or it's been damaged over the years). In any case, if I find more family members, I can let you know.
|Donna Mouriz||Sarah White 1824-1892|
I'm looking for more info on Sarah -married to James Hiriam White 1814-1881 -- you mentioned the parents Willis & Patsy Johnson. They are in my family tree . Do you have any info on them ? Thank you email@example.com
|Lawrence J. Daniel||Lt. Humberson Lyon, any way to link him with his relatives?|
Here's a link to I guess his brother but others have said his son, Steven? #127007932 And you're saying that their dad was Capt Humberson Lyon Sr of the Virginia Militia and that Lyon Sr. was the one who died in 1783? Also, you say that Sr. and Jr. we're at Kings Mountain and that it was Jr. who died there? I'm curious because my Great Great Grandmother is the Great Granddaughter of Steven Lyon #127007932. That means according to your sources she was the Great-niece of Lt. Humberson Lyon and the Great Great Granddaughter of Capt. Humberson Lyon. My Great Great Grandmother is Martha Susan Lyon Daniel #59083198
|The Navigator||William Audley Gaston middle name|
Vonnie, because of travel, I just received your June 1 note on William Gaston's middle name. I do not have original documentation confirming his middle name as "Audley", but I have seen it used on multiple online sites. That however could be a self propagating mistake. I'll research it a little to see if I can find corroborating information.
May I ask a favor? I see multiple messages on your profile where folks are commiserating with you over some of your memorials that have disappeared; I didn't know that. Could you fill me in on the details of that?
|Benjamin Torrie||David Steele (1730-1812)|
Hey there! I'm Benj Torrie, and I'm an 8th great grandson of David Steele, who was born in 1730 and died on the 12th of December, 1812. You had left a flower on his Find A Grave page (https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Steele&GSfn=David&GSbyrel=all&GSdy=1812&GSdyrel=in&GSst=19&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=65393685&df=all&) and I was wondering if a) you knew anything about him b) lived close to the gravesite to take a picture, if you could. Anything helps! Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for this great informative message about the Battle of King's Mountain. King's Mountain was definitely a major pivot of the War. This battle showed the Brits that we were never giving up. There is a Thomas Scott that was there that I am often asked about in regards to kinship.He was only 17 years of age when he fought at King's Mtn. It is written that he walked 300 miles back to his home in PA. after the King's Mtn. Battle. This is most likely a stretch of someone's imagination. I believe he would have been a little confused, but most likely just the author of the story was confused.I guess "Fake News" has been around for quite awhile. His family had moved to NC prior to the King's Mtn. Battle. Thomas was born in Pennyslvania and his family moved to North Carolina when he was in his youth. Thomas is a quite distant cousin related through my 3G grandfather, John Baytop Scott's(Halifax County, VA.)daughter, Rebecca Coleman Scott McMahon's husband's family.
One of my family's most talked about grandfathers is my 18th Great grandfather, Robert l the Bruce, King of Scots. This kinship is through My 5G grandmother, Anne Baytop Scott's ancestry path, wife of 5G grandfather Thomas Scott.

What a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for this transfer. Larkin is my 5g grandfather.
