RE: Captain John Byars
Do you think that they may have gotten married in Louisa? I have to go up to the court house later this week I can definitely take a look and see what o can find. :-)

Captain John Byars
Hi, I saw your note on Capt. Byars' entry. He was my great grandfather as well, although he was my 7th. :-)
I actually live in Mineral (Louisa County, Virginia) Near the same area he and Elizabeth lived (and also Not too far from Elizabeth's Father's 1600 acres as well).
It's great to find a cousin.
Hope you have a good one!

RE: Martha Mattie Weddington Hatfield
Yes, but I didn't create the memorials that have been removed. I'm guessing, at this point, that while I was either doing some research, or simply linking some family members together, I came across the original memorials ... and then at some point came back (likely to do more research) and then noticed they're gone.

I'm not sure if I've replied to you or not. If I haven't my apologies for such a delay. [other older msgs I've replied to.] So, as far as why memorials for Valentine Hatfield and Martha Weddington Hatfield were removed - I don't have a clue. I didn't create them, and didn't remove them.

Thank you for sharing. What beautiful treasures putting faces on the many members of the family tree.
I personally have been married into the Bitter-Devol family for 43 years now. The line you have shared is a distant line.

Yes, Pauline. I knew them both when young and also Laura and her older sister (can't remember her name, either). They were very kind to me. Last time I saw Laura was in Covina, CA in the early 70's.
