I live in Waterford, Michigan, my current focus is on finding all of the men who died in Vietnam from the 1st Cav 1-8 Jumping Mustang Companies HQ and A-E. I currently have 398 men on my Virtual Cemetery.|
I am always willing to share photos, so feel free to copy any I have added. I try to give credit when possible. If by chance I have omitted credit please advise and I will correct.
PLEASE VISIT MY VIRTUAL CEMETERY FOR INFORMATION ON THE KIA'S FROM THE 1-8 Jumping Mustangs who died in Vietnam. I am happy to add photos or memories, just make a request. I encourage others to go to jumpingmustangs.com to view current information on this organization.
My husband Mike "Doc" Rice is a Vietnam veteran, serving during 8-1967 thru 8-1968 with the 1st Cav, 1-8 Division, Jumping Mustangs Co D and HQ Company. We are trying to locate anyone who he served with.

By coincidence, I am currently in Michigan and I received your email. To answer your question, yes, I was at Starling Cemetery. To get there, from the junction of Highways 251 and 231 go two miles east on Palestine Road to a house on the left. The cemetery lies in a field behind the house and it is prudent to get permission to go to it. When I was there, there were very gracious and acted as guides to the cemetery. The lady of the house is Mary nee Starling, the sister of John. Her parents are buried there as well. Starling Cemetery is located at coords 36.412634 -90.995321
Mary and John were my schoolmates when I attended Maynard High School.

Yes, There is a Margaret J. "Mickey" but there is no death date so I assume she is still
amongst the living. Looks to be the wife of John F. "Fred" who passed in 2014.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS YOU LEFT ON MY BROTHER DANNY AND MY MAMA AND DADDY. I JUST HAVE SEEN THEM AND I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. THANK YOU. JIMMY STEPHENS

Dear Sue: I was going through your wonderful grave tributes to soldiers from the 1/8th Cav, and noticed that one name was missing: James R. Jollay, who was assigned to Hq Co, and was the supply sergeant for A Company 1965-1966. His dates are: Born October 28, 1937, Died January 29, 2002. He retired as a Sergeant first Class. I also served with HQ Company during the same period. Jim was a great friend of mine, and want him remembered.
|Karolyn Horner||RE: Wesley Day|
It was an honor to take his photo and I thank him for his ultimate sacrifice.
|Dave Hooker||James E. Seeterlin|
I have transfered the memorial to you.
Glad he is with family.
