Bio Photo DEAR ANCESTOR

YOUR TOMBSTONE STANDS AMONG THE REST;
NEGLECTED AND ALONE
THE NAME AND DATE ARE CHISELED OUT
ON POLISHED MARBLE STONE

IT REACHES OUT TO ALL WHO CARE
IT IS TOO LATE TO MOURN
YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT I EXIST
YOU DIED AND I WAS BORN.

YET EACH OF US ARE CELLS OF YOU
IN FLESH, IN BLOOD, IN BONE.
OUR BLOOD CONTRACTS AND BEATS A PULSE
ENTIRELY NOT OUR OWN.

DEAR ANCESTOR, THE PLACE YOU FILLED
ONE-HUNDRED YEARS AGO
SPREADS OUT AMONG THE ONES YOU LEFT
WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU SO.

I WONDER IF YOU LIVED AND LOVED,
I WONDER IF YOU KNEW
THAT SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND THIS SPOT,
AND COME TO VISIT YOU?

Minnie E Mills 1881-1926
Hi Sandy, if you check 1905 Pottawatomie, Kansas Census for George and Minnie. You will find two children, Claude and Ella. Claude was born 15 May 1902 and died 30 July 1908. If you Google Westmoreland city Cemetery, Pottawatomie, Kansas and pick the one that is not find a grave. It has Claude and maybe a sister Georgie Mills born 24 Oct 1906 and died 14 Sep 1908. Also listed is Minnie E Mills born 4 Jan 1881 died 28 Jun 1926. I believe this is there mother and wife of George T Mills. If you go to find a grave for Westmoreland Cemetery, You will find a Millie E Mills with the same bith and death dates as Minnie with a husband . I do not know if two different people or a mistake. I will leave it to you and Judy straighten up and make it right. I saw your post on George T Mills memorial. You can reach me at tjirwin@swbell.net Thanks

I transferred Harriet but didn't realize someone else had created James. I don't know what John you are referring to as buried near them tho. I only see a John born 1833 listed for Maquon so that can't be their son.

Sandy,

Yes, please feel free to use the photo and thanks for catching my spelling error. Would you like me to transfer them to you? I photographed the entire Maquon Cemetery and the vast majority are in my husband's tree but they aren't closely related to him.

George T Mills 1875-1925
Hi Sandy, I have George and Minnie Youngest child Jessie in my tree. He was adopted. I have found clues to some of the other children. Tonight I added Jessie to George memorial so Jessie would be with his birth father. I live in Kay county, Okla.
It is strange what happen to Minnie.

Thanks

Frederick Enfield
Hi Sandy,
You mentioned in Frederick Enfield's memorial (# 19563038) that you have additional Find A Grave#s for some of his children. I am trying to locate one of his sons, William H. Enfield, who was born in 1807. I believe he may be my great great grandfather. Another son, Jacob Enfield, born in 1811 is a possibility. Do you by any chance have information for either of them?

I live in OK too and am researching Enfields. Maybe we are related.

RE: Mary E STALEY Cray:
Interesting, it seems the picture with the phone number is no longer on here. I *think* it's 570-655-0931. If that doesn't work, let me know and I can search through pictures for the posting.
