I live in South Yorkshire in England and am willing to look for graves etc in the local area.
I am trying to make a full record of the cemeteries I live near and am using local history records to add in the details for headstones which I cannot read or are missing. I started this when tracing my own family tree and my aim is to help anyone tracing their family. I do not want to upset anyone, so if anyone wants me to remove or transfer memorials please let me know.
Tip (Copied from England Discussion Forum):
To do a search for cemetery or churchyard in a particular county go to cemetery search and begin with a full search for all in England. Find-A-Grave will say that there are too many records and that you should go back and refine the search so that it returns fewer results. Ignore this and in the address bar at the top of the screen, where the url reads:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=csr&CScn=&CScntry=5&CSst=0 replace the 0 at the end with one of the following codes. There may still be several pages of cemeteries in the list for the county, but it is easier to look through
4216 County Durham
4811 East Riding of Yorkshire
4217 East Sussex
4220 Greater London
5248 Greater Manchester
4226 Isle of Wight
4233 North Yorkshire
4240 South Yorkshire
4244 Tyne and Wear
5249 West Midlands
4247 West Sussex
4248 West Yorkshire

I believe you kindly took a lot of the St Wifrids graveyard photos ... My ggg William Stephenson .. has a brother Henry Stephenson buried here .. and I believe there are also Carters and possibly Hill's also buried here .. but I don't see any stone photos for them (Henry married a Hill .. and his mother was a Carter) Henry died Dec 1882 .. being born at Doncaster in 1812. Another kind person took a picture of Henry Stephenson's stone (a flat with the ground stone) for me at one time.
Thanks so much for the tip on how to find churches. I didn't know this - I'll bet a lot of other folks didn't either.
I also appreciate your allowing me to use your photos in my family tree.

Thank you so much for all that you have done.
I have left ad edit on Richard Drinkall to change his birth date and place of birth to 1768 in Flixborough from 1772 in Burton upon Stather.
Richard's grave gives his age as 55 when he died in 1823 making his birth year 1768, not 1772.
The Richard Drinkall who was born in 1772 appears on the 1841 and 1851 census reports. He married Ann Hollingworth in Frodingham in 1797.
Thank you for transcribing the All Saints memorials for HOSM. I believe my great great grandfather was buried there as well as two of his children; however, they aren't included here. I was wondering if you worked from the record books at All Saints or from the memorials. Possibly there was no headstone for my relatives.

Hi Charlie, I'm trying to find my Great Grandfather's grave. He died on 25 Aug 1943 and was buried at St John's. It was an unmarked grave and we can't a record of the plot details anywhere. Just wondering if you might be able to help.
