I've been working on my Family history since I was 11 years old. I started this because of a homework assignment and became hooked when Grandpa explained that he was Grandma's third husband. I had no idea! |
I've used this site for a long time, gleaning little tidbits of information that I needed. Then it occurred to me that I may have information that someone else needs so I should give back. I signed up as a member and I've been adding my little tidbits as I find them. I hope it helps someone.
If I claim a photo request for an area not local to me (Stafford, VA) don't panic. It means that I was there and already have the picture and I will upload it once I return home from my travels. Along those lines - when I am traveling I may let you know that I have claimed one of your photo requests. If you will go ahead and request the rest of your family in that cemetery it helps because if I am running out of time, memory space in my camera, or battery I will try to concentrate on requests that have been made. :)
UPDATES ON MY PROJECTS!
I have taken the photos for Rodef Shalom Cemetery in Cardiff, NJ. I will be entering those as I can. There are over 4000 photos so it may take me most of the winter to get them all entered! UPDATE: 20 MAR 2016 - I am down to only 783 more pictures to enter for this cemetery which at my current pace will take about 3 months. Once competed I will start on Mount Calvary, in Pleasantville. COMPLETED! I am now working on Mount Calvary.
I have taken photos of about 1/3 of the Beth Kehillah Cemetery in Cardiff, NJ. I have completed adding the photos that I have until my next trip. (Except for the ones that need translating from Hebrew to English.) COMPLETED!
I have completed taking the pictures in Emeth Shalom Cemetery, Cardiff, NJ. I will hopefully complete entering them into FAG by the end of 2014! COMPLETED!
I have photo documented the Stafford Memorial Gardens, Stafford, VA up through last summer (2012) so now we just need to keep up with the new additions. But there are hundreds of unmarked graves in that cemetery.
I have taken all photos for the AMAA Cemetery in Brooke, Stafford/Fredericksburg, VA. All names and photos have been entered as of June 2013. This cemetery buries people in the order received so it will be easy to keep updated.
Edits and Transfer requests should be made through the edit tab. Thanks.

|Burnt Almond Fudge||Sarah Butcher Butterfield|
Find A Grave contributor Carol Chakurda has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Sarah Butterfield.
Link to memorial: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=145231

Sarah Butcher Butterfield's obituary was posted to the memorial page and it lists different parents then she is connected to on the page. Can you please correct her parents? Thanks! Carol
I think the death record and the obituary are wrong. I have contacted the family and asked them to try and get the death record changed. If you have more info to prove that the people listed on the obit and the death record are her parents please send it to me i can only find her listed on the 1880 census with another mother and father.

Nancy Knauf was my mother-in-law. I would be glad to manage her Find-a-Grave page. Thank you.
|James Lockler||RE: Archie Greenburg York|
It will be some time before I return, but I definitely will verify and let you know.
Carol, Could the death date of Percy J. Trickey be March 18th 1906? That's is what the ONTARIO REPOSITORY & MESSENGER gives for an infant son of Fred S Trickey. " Trickey — In Manchester, March 18th, infant son of Fred Trickey."

Thank you so much for posting a photo of my husband's late dad's headstone. My husband's father died when my husband was only 5, and he doesn't remember much about him. His mom (my wonderful mother-in-law) has since remarried, and doesn't want to talk about Eddie because it's very hard for her. But I'm putting together my husband's family tree for everyone, and your project has helped me tremendously. Thank you! Karen Rosenblum

The death year for Memorial #126746802 is actually 1928, not 1926.
|Buddys Ears||Thank you|
Thank you for posting the picture of my dad's stone. I'm pretty sure you put my mom's up too based on the date you posted my dad's. I'm going to add a picture of him
|Avrum Geller||Ray Freifelder|
It's Ray KRIEGER[not GREGOR] FREIFELDER died 1964 who is buried in Rodef Sholom Cemetery in Cardiff, Atlantic, NJ.
|David Hunsberger||Falls Church City|
Carol, thanks for providing edits to the David Bos memorial. I accepted them, then checked the birth records, and then removed your additions. If you are not from around here you may not realize that Falls Church City is different from the Falls Church neighborhood that lies within Fairfax County. The birth records I found online gave Fairfax County, so I went with that. Anyway, edits are always welcome. -- David
|Carl Catherman||Carolyn Jones|
Thank you very much for adding the note.
