I greatly enjoy photographing cemeteries in Georgia and South Mississippi, two states near and dear to my heart. I use these digital files to update or create memorials herein. |
Please feel free to use any of my photos found on find a grave in your family histories as your own.
If you find your name listed as a survivor in an obituary I have posted and would like your name removed, just ask. It will be removed promptly. Obituaries add a lot of genealogical information that if not captured will be lost, with cremation on the rise related to the cost of living, this may be all that remains to memorialize our loved ones.
If a newspaper or funeral home has already published a name in an obituary, anonymity is already compromised, if that's what you want to call it (with the internet ruling our world, what is private anyway ?).
Happy Hunting, Bren

I have accepted your edit request
Thank you for the birth and death date info.
|Jade Pye||Thank you!|
You photographed my grandmothers grave, Lillian Pye. She's in the sugar hill cemetery in Lamar county. I don't get to go by and visit it often, but I was shocked to find it on findagrave! Thank you!

Thank you for adding to the information for so many others. I value these markers and do all I can to preserve those I encounter. Even with cremation, it is possible to leave memorials, as the columbarium at my parents' church does. I regret that some do not appreciate the value of these memorials.

Bren, perhaps it might be easier to transfer my mother's page to me so I can add the page IDs for her siblings, parents and grand parents. While the edits to the obituary are appreciated, the obituary needs to read as written and recorded by the funeral home as the brother and sister you included were deceased at the time so were not included as surviving siblings. You are so kind to take the time to photograph and list all the memorials you have done. My intention was to do her memorial but, to be honest, at the time of her death my heart was full of grief so I was thankful to find it already done. Thank you.
|Dona (Carr) Mooring||Duplicate memorials|
Please report the duplicate memorials to firstname.lastname@example.org give them the two memorial numbers and they will merge the memorials into one; they use the oldest create date.

That won't be a problem. It's very close to my house so it's no trouble at all.

Kind words are always appreciated. And thank you for showing that I sent you the edit. That is a great idea and I will start doing the same. Just recently I had to spend some time finding an edit I had made for a user and I have no doubt that will happen again.
