I've been adding older memorials in my area over the winter months and plan to go out, find and photograph them when it warms up. Any information you have to add to any of my memorials would be appreciated. I search the old newspapers for old obits. and also look up the death certificates, as sometimes the obit. does not give specific birthdates, parents, etc...this information is not always correct, but if it is there, I will list it and make a note where that info. came from. If you want me to add information or change anything, please list your source.|
I have no problem with transfers if they are not related to me.
Any of my headstone photos may be used anywhere you'd like, I only ask that you give me credit for the photo.

Thank you. The death date I had was not substantiated and therefore, I too will use the tombstone date. Thanks

Thanks. I created a memorial for Margaret so that would be great if you would add the pic. I don't know her dates but will add them if they are on the stone.

|Scott Mellinger||RE: George W. Mellinger at Chambersburg|
Could you share the death certificate if you have a copy? I believe his father was Jacob Mellinger and his mother was Martha in the 1850 census. I track all the Mellinger emigrants to America before 1800 and while I'm not certain I believe Jacob's parents may have been two Mellinger first cousins from my family in Lancaster County. Jacob's farm survived the burning of Chambersburg but possibly Jacob died before 1860 so only his wife may have been living there at that time. Interestingly the farm seems to be located on King St. near the creek which is also near the cemetery. Send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will send you my contact info what I have on this family. Would love to verify these are my relatives. Thanks for you help. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. And what a story!

Sad story. Can I ask how you know his parents names? Thanks.
