|I've been doing genealogy research for about 35 years. I started before you could turn on your computer and do the research from your home. While I enjoy the convenience of using the internet to do research, I still enjoy the more "hands on" approach. I've taken many trips over the years to courthouses, cemeteries, to visit elderly family members, etc. along the way. For me, the online research just doesn't bring the same satisfaction that I feel when I am able to go dig up the information in person. I've enjoyed meeting cousins that I never knew I had, and I've also been able to reconnect with family members that I've lost contact with over the years. This has become a great hobby, and I've enjoyed learning all the interesting stories, both good and bad, about my family history. I hope I have and am playing some small part in getting younger members of my family interested in what came before them. |
I'm happy to share whatever information that I have. Feel free to use the grave photos that I've added without contacting me. I've uploaded them for your use. All I ask is that you list where you got the photo along with the cemetery, city, state so others can find the grave if they wish to visit it. I'm happy to take photos of graves in my area for other people and upload them to memorials here. I think of it as a kind of payment for those who have been kind enough to get photos for me. I try to take the kind of photos that I would like to have....well focused, as readable as possible, and a good angle.
As for the more PERSONAL PHOTOS, I'd like to be contacted before anyone adds them to another website or uses them in any other way. I love sharing, but I also like to know where and how my research and/or personal family photos will be used, and I like to know that credit is given to the proper individual(s) if my research or photos are used by others. I feel it's extremely important that future researchers be able to get to original sources of pictures and other documents the same way that I and others did. It's very frustrating to see a supposed photo of someone on the internet, but the person posting the photo doesn't have the original, can't tell you where the original is or any other information about it, and doesn't even know for sure that the photo is correctly identified.
I'm happy to transfer any memorials that don't belong to my family. Just let me know if I am managing a memorial which is of your family member, and I'll get it transferred to you ASAP if I'm not related. I like to see memorials in the hands of family or friends who can add to the memorial and make it the best it can be.

There is a tall marker at the cememtery. I sent my counsin who lives close to there to take a photo which I posted years ago. I have been sick for years - struck by a driver on the wrong side of the road. My husband keeps a family tree for me. He has two master degrees, one in history and a Juris Doctor Degree. He has a lot of records some put up on ancestry. His information is: firstname.lastname@example.org. I am so sick I only feel like looking at it once in a while. But Johnny would be glad to send you information on my tree. Wanda Crabb Pannell.

Are you related to John? He is the brother of my grandfather Clarence Cruey?
|Elizabeth Davis||Aten death notices|
I was glad to add those Aten death notices and update other data based on them. Don't be afraid to send more. Thank you!

I agree. A terrible tragedy for that family.
Sabrina: You no longer manage this memorial, find a grave does. They have their messages disabled. This lady, Saluda Richards would have been my father's great great aunt? Well, way back there. I would LOVE to manage her memorial. Any ideas on how to reach find a grave to get them to transfer? Thanks, Dorothy Richards Knight

I have added a photo of Elizabeth Downing Smith to this site. I thought you might be interested if you do not already have it. Joe

Thank You Sabrina for the transfer
|Faith Collins||James Clarence Brown or James C. Brown #78291177|
My cousin Thelma "Irene" Watts Brown was married on 8 Jan 1922 to Clarence Brown. I believe in assessing the census for 1900 - 1940 this same James C.(Clarence) Brown is the son of James R. Brown #81655001 and his wife Amanda Melvina Norton Brown #14928953. On James C. Brown's tombstone it is noted that his birth year is 1896. His military draft form states he was born Dec 28, 1895. Do you have any personal knowledge of this family relationship?

Thank you! That's very nice of you to do that. My husband and I stop and photograph any graves in cemeteries that we find when we are on vacation. This is one that we ran across but I am not related.
