|I love doing genealogy research and I've been researching for many years.|
I think recording, photographing and preserving grave sites is very important and memorializing those who have passed away on Find A Grave is a wonderful way to pay tribute to those who we've loved and lost.
If you see any errors or have more information on my memorials please feel free to suggest corrections and additions.
Unless I am directly descended, I am happy to transfer memorials to those who are more closely related.

|Deborah McCoy Autry||Harriett McCoy|
Daniel and Margaret also had a dau named Harriett, born abt 1820. She married Ellison Carl Duty. In the 1880 US Census her father, Daniel is living in their household. His age is recorded as "90".
|Deborah McCoy Autry||Margaret Peggy Taylor McCoy|
My 3X Great grandmother, Marg. Peggy didn't die until sometime after 1870. She's in the 1870 US Census living with her nephew, Lewis Ferrell and his wife. Lewis Ferrell was the son of Margaret's sister, Jane and the Rev. John Ferrell. John also had children with Elizabeth Vance. They were the parents of Jim Vance who was reputed to have killed Asa Harmon McCoy; Margaret's son and my 2 X great grandfather. What a tangled web, indeed!
|Glenna Hollon||The Adkins Family|
Hello Angie! I am not directly related to you, but rather two of your great-uncles. "Willie" Adkins married my aunt Magalene Hollon and Lemon Adkins married my aunt Allene Hollon. She and Lemon had 9 children - most of which live in the Middletown area. She later married Bernard Allen. I am the daughter of their brother, Glenwood Hollon.
Eileen Shelton maintains several of these relatives:
Lemon Adkins Sr - Mem. # 107290593
Lemon Adkins Jr - Mem # 107291246
Allene Hollon Allen - Mem #22453275
Charlie Adkins - Mem # 107369888
They also had a son Mason "Mick" Adkins who is there at the Woodside Cem., too. He was born Nov 28, 1949 and passed July 12, 2004.
I hope this helps you in your roots gathering!

|Pamela Estep||RE: Daniel McCoy picture|
You're welcome Angela. There is a lot of photos online that are ms-identified. People just assume its this or that person when it has a name on it and it keeps being posted elsewhere as the wrong one. The same goes for data, wrong spouses, children etc..
|Pamela Estep||Daniel McCoy picture|
Just wanted to let you know that the photo of Daniel McCoy is not that of Daniel son of William & Cordelia.
It is of Daniel W. McCoy s/o John & Phebe Roberts McCoy. He was born 06 Aug 1841 Rainsboro, Highland County, Ohio and died 01 May 1902 De Witt, Clinton County, Iowa.
Captain Daniel W. McCoy commanded the 175th Ohio at the Battle of Franklin, TN. Originally he served in Co I, 24th OVI.
Daniel W. McCoy served four years during the Civil War.
This Daniel W. McCoy married twice, 1st Eva V. Vallete (divorced) and 2nd Margaret Ann O'Brien,
Here is the number where the photo is posted to the wrong Daniel.
Find A Grave Memorial# 57403553
This photo is being passed around as the wrong Daniel who was a brother to my 3rd Great Grandmother.
The Civil War started April 12, 1861 and ended in Spring, 1865. In 1861 William and Cordelia's son Daniel was 71 years old. The man in the photo looks to be in his 20's. When the war started Daniel W. McCoy pictured was 20 years old. I have another photo of him when he was older.
|Glen Gallagher||Harriett Gayhart - Amanda Cemetery|
I visited the Amanda Cemetery this week, but did not find the grave for Harriett Gayhart. I can't say that I did a 100% check of all the graves - it was a little colder than I realized so I was sort of rushed. However I did not see any markers for the Gayhart family. Also there are a fair number of unmarked stone monuments, so it's possible that Martha might be buried at one of these.
