We are a retired Navy couple, so please let us know if there is a military headstone you need that is in our area, will make sure you get it...|
We are working on getting the GPS locations and pictures of the Prince William County area cemeteries. if you need anything, just let us know.
NOTICE: If you want to use any of my photos that we have posted on Find A Grave, you are welcome to do so as long as it is for genealogical research and is neither immoral or illegal. We keep the original, higher resolution pictures for all pictures we take in our county and are very willing to share them upon request.
Transfer Requests... It seems many folks don't have any manners when it comes to requesting a transfer... The people who send rude/demanding correction requests also need to learn some manners if they want the changes made. Yes, mistakes/typos can happen. Acting like it is your right to be rude and demand changes about it is uncalled for.
Remember: Genealogy without documentation is mythology!

|Char Bah||Primas Cemetery|
Marie & Dale V,
Thank you for posting the picture of the Primas Cemetery. I am writing a book on a Freedmen's Cemetery in Alexandria, VA.
The Primas' family is related to one of the families in my book. Can you give me an address for the Primas Cemetery or an address near the Cemetery.
I do not live in Prince William County and I would like to visit that Cemetery. Thanks again!!

I have noticed that you have a listing for John Schwartz - Find A Grave Memorial# 22633934 - in Congressional Cemetery, in Washington, D.C. and that another memorial - Find A Grave Memorial# 6724595 is also for John Schwartz, but is listed as buried in a different cemetery - Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading, Burks County, Pennsylvania. Is having two listings for the same person allowed?
|Ruby7||Patrick Ham(b)rick headstone|
I would like to use the two photographs you posted 16 Jan 2007 on Find-A-Grave page for Patrick
Ham(b)rick, #17497643. It is to post with his profile on WikiTree. I will source the photos to you of course.
Thank you for the work you are doing by documenting this type of information. It is important.

|Arlis Ross||Wolfe Island|
Hello, I am wondering how much you know about Wolfe Island history. I am looking for my GGG Grandparents, Weir McCrea and Delilah Ellis McCrea.
I believe Weir may have used different spellings for his surname and that he remarried a lady named Nancy. All I can find on Find a grave for a Nancy on Wolfe Island, is a Nancy McCready. I am not sure if she remarried or if she is the same person. I visited Wolfe Island last summer but had no luck finding their graves. Any information or help you might provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Arlis Ross

"Mary Mariah Hartman Bowden" is confusing her with her daughter-in-law (Nancy Maria Hartman Bowden), the wife of her son Caleb A. Bowden >>JR<<.
her grandson John Martin Bowden (1880-1969, #85629508) was erroneously placed as her son; see 1900 census, where Nancy M. Bowden (age 50) is listed as the mother of John M. Bowden (age 19), which makes more sense than she having him at age 60 (not impossible, of course, but not too likely.)
I have no idea which Mary the photo belongs to.
Both children Shadrich (b. 1844) and Julia (b. 1862) Mary Etchison listed as their mother's maiden name on their death certificates, so this is her name.
As for the birth date, I can't completely make out the day (it looks like 26 to me) but the year is clearly 1820, which also matches her age in census (and makes her old enough to be the mother of a son, John, born about 1841 - in 1860 census.)

Marie and Dale, Thanks for the directions. I found it and took as many photos as I could. On to another cemetery in PWC. Larry

I totally understand. I am not related nor am I find-a-grave, and I understand the problems with this website as well. I just found the duplicate and gave you a heads up. I appreciate you giving me a history lesson of problems with other memorial.
I, too, believe it should stay with family. Good luck and again, thank you for all the work and time you have put into preserving your family.
|cchldrss||RE: Duplicate Find A Grave Memorial|
Sorry about the wrong number I pasted. I was referring to what you addressed later in your reply.
The problem I had was choosing which to link children to. I agree that you have more information. What I have noticed on duplicates is that frequently they are merged by Find A Grave with all data on the later one being lost. I am not sure why this hasn't occurred on yours. Maybe its the presence of Van on yours and their software doesn't identify them as the same.
A second concern is that a number of different people have linked children to yours making yours the more relevant one. However, some people at Find A Grave do not like the linking capability (your competitor in this case is one and her message system is turned off).
Basically I wanted to alert you. I may switch my linkage to yours so the siblings will no longer be flagged as half-siblings.

Thanks very much for accepting my edits and for the transfer to me. I'll continue my research so that I can add more information about them.
And thanks also for all that you do for others-it is much appreciated.
